It does have a SD issue on some units but ignoring that its the best handheld ive ever seen or used!! Also best buy has done a wonderful job handling the issues with SD. So its best to only buy it at bestbuy as they are handling each customer with care.

Which does have its benefits in the long run, this allows for more game launcher programs and the ability to run more games than the Steam Deck. My only complaint is how quickly the battery can be drained.

Set up is a headache but once everything is configured it works great, hardware is stop on software….ehhh

I travel alot and the ability to take this in my backpack and have a system in my hotel room is awesome. I take the power plug that also uses a hdmi cable to plug into the TV to use it as a mobile console.

Easy to connect controllers. Steam works great. She used PS remote play from another network than the PS 5 and experienced no lag. Excellent system.

Plays PC / Xbox games (but being a PC it may take some effort for best performance) Think of it like buying a gaming laptop but more affordable

Don’t get me wrong you can get a lot more function out of a pc at this price point but as far as handhelds go this thing is very powerful. The reason I can’t give it 5 stars is QC. I’ve had fan wine and more recently my SD card slot has fried (as most people with these units have experienced). I’m hoping to return this unit under the manufacturers warranty and purchase something else. If you have money to blow and don’t care about those issues it’s a great unit. However I’m going to be searching for something with more longevity even at the cost of performance.

Since recieving my ally, i havent played the steam deck at all. The rog simply outclasses the steam deck. Playing games natively works well but streaming is where its at. Using moonlight/steam streaming at 120fps is absolutely glorious for couch sessions.

Still some bugs that are being worked out but the device plays games well. Windows 11 works as expected, when docked, external display output is good quality. Upgraded to 2TB SSD, that process was quite easy as well.

A game console that easily turns into a full-fledged PC - just buy a screen and a mouse with a keyboard . You will be in the black and delight

This would be the perfect device: gamea like VRchat can range from 56-64fps ( low settings). Grim Lord VR: 37-48fps ( high settings) SkyrimVr (64 fps) low settinbs. I mainly play VR this way because it's convient for me. Its worth cbecking out

But the ROG Ally has been able to take everything I threw at it at 1080p with at least a very playable 30fps. Overall great purchase that I would recommend to anyone who wishes there Steam Deck had a little extra power.
