What a great purchase this was! As a previous owner of a Steam Deck, I can confidentaly say that I made the right choice. The screen is immaculate! So clear and crisp. The software is being updated consistently. Do yourself a favor and if you want PC gaming on the go, grab one of these!!

Absolutely love my ROG Ally. I use it all the time when I’m chilling on the couch. My girlfriend can keep watching tv while I play. It’s very good quality and I have not had any issues with any title I have tried to play on it

Its a mobile PC! Runs all the games that I need it to while im on the go or just want to sit in bed and game. Im not a very techy guy but they made it simple enough for me to be able to download my games and play right out the box. 10-/10

This is a rival to the Steam deck and handily beats the current version. 1080p 120hz display is incredible looking and the only game I've come across thus far that scales it back to 30fps is BG3. If you're looking for a top tier handheld mobile PC look no further.

Bought one for my roommate and I and I use it all the time. Battery life is decent, sound is amazing, and performance is great. Only issue is the SD card which I just avoid and throw a bigger SSD into it. Other than that, great machine.

This is the handheld I've been waiting for since I was a kid, very good as a 1st gen device hopefully they will address the battery short life in future generations. This is a beginning of something amazing yet to come.

Powerhouse handheld gaming - worth the purchase. Windows is not without its issues, but that doesn’t take away from what this can do. Own both the Ally and the Steamdeck. Each has its purpose. The only problem I have is I need more storage already. Easy upgrade though. Buy it!

Was hesitant but ended up loving this purchase. It is a windows pc so windows experience is a necessity as it’s setup is more cumbersome than a steamdeck, but I’ve ended up playing on this more than PS5 or PC. The fact this thing can run Cyberpunk at 1080p smoothly still blows my mind.

I returned it, I think if there’s a second revision I will definitely choose that but there are a few missing features such as a rest mode that it lacks. Overall I would say it’s a very nice portable console and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something smaller than the steam deck.

Some pc knowledge is required for optimal set up. Other than that, yhis is a great portable pc option.

While my ROG Ally is generally ok, if undersized for elder eyes, the SD card slot is compromised by its placement adjacent to the heatsink (engineers didn’t pay attention in Electrical Engineering 101). Under heavy using (gaming, the primary purpose of this product), the data on the SD card will become corrupt due to heat, possibly beyond repair. While their does appear to be a soft recall, apparently, ASUS support and warranty repair is a consumer hostile experience in which ASUS will actively attempt to defraud or misdirect the consumer rather than resolve their actual issue. Please see GamersNexus and Louis Rossman on YouTube regarding their experience. As such, I won't bother using ASUS repair services, will accept the product as is, and will never purchase ASUS product again. When the joystick fails, i will replace that myself with Hall effect joysticks. Regarding the SD slot, to augment capacity, I simply replaced the NVMe SSD with a larger capacity model. I'd recommend the Steam Deck for a straightforward, console-like experience. For a more involved, enthusiast experience, i might suggest the Lenovo Legion Go or its successor (the controllers/grips need a redesign). I got lucky with my ASUS motherboard but won’t buy ASUS products again.

Overall the device is very powerful. I can run modern titles like Cod mw3 or Cyberpunk 2077 with a few adjustments. Also the display is gorgeous and the audio on board is surprisingly crisp and even cover lsup the fan noise at medium volume. The low rating is due the the joysticks. They are flimsy at best and lack any response making FPS games unplayable if you want to be remotely competitive. I had to return the device due to this issue. For all other games that don’t require much precision this device is highly recommended.

I travel for work frequently (on a plane), and this handheld is great!! I recommend this if you’re tired of the Nintendo Switch, and want a powerful little PC. Honestly, the only issue is you really need to be plugged in to enjoy the full capability. Would recommend!!

Battery life could be better. Windows OS (not asus isse) could be better for handhelds. Being able to play Xbox store, steam, EA, Blizzard etc games on the go is pretty clutch. I still use my steam deck since it has more of a console feel due to Linux but this is a good machine.

I love this device it lives up to my expectations. I don’t have room for a desktop pc and my laptop just became a pain to lug around to were I can play it. A handheld is perfect for me and pc gaming is the only way I play. I don’t have any complaints I am very happy with this product.

Amazing little thing. I have a gaming PC with 4070Ti on-board. But after I got my Ally, I play diablo 4, cyberpunk and hogwarts laying on the coach. Incredible! Replaced storage to 1 TB because my SD card died on me. So I recommend doing it even before booting it first time. Thanks Asus
