So many problems

The screen is phenominal, and the unit performs well. The control scheme is a pain and armoury crate frequently has issues changing controller schemes. The sd card reader will go out on you eventually, and the unit is plagued with power issues. My unit lasted around 20 days before it refused to recognize any charger and power up. The RMA process is the worst I have experienced from a tech company so far, and I have dealt with just about all of them.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, and are built to lasts, problems you are experiencing with the ROG Ally are random. If you are experiencing stability and performance issues with the device, check if Windows, drivers, BIOS and games are up to date. Updates for the ROG Ally are posted at: https://rog.asus.com/us/gaming-handhelds/rog-ally/rog-ally-2023/helpdesk_download/. Additionally, check if you are running the most current Armoury Crate utility software. The most current version is available for download at: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/. While accessing cloud games or web applications, please ensure the device has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will affect system stability and performance. Keeping the device always updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "MyASUS" utility software or application. I would definitely recommend this item not only for kids but for adults that need some sort of portable computer you can plug the device into a monitor and/or Tv and have a full screen

It is lighter seems easier to use and it has windows right there so I can sync it with my laptop fairly easily. I feel like you can do more easier with the ROG Ally vs the steam deck.

The Armory crate software also makes it feel more console like and easy to use. This is the best windows handheld out there, and a solid alternative to the steam deck.

The Steam Decks ONLY plus side is the longer battery life but that's because it's slower

Impressive performace is a quiet package

Without a screen protector the reflection is hard to see. Even when fully loaded and cooling is at a macimum the fans are quiet enough that you don't notice the noise. In CPUz it benchmarks similar to my 3900x, which is amazing.

The best handheld gaming device that’s boasts a full windows OS. I play steam games without problems. Just make sure they are controller compatible games.

This was my Christmas present to myself. As long as you are comfortable with a windows computer and you like playing games this will entertain the heck out of you!

Battery drains pretty fast but charges pretty quickly as well. Only complaint is its a pain to tey and use for applications that imvolve typing are a pain becsuse the touch screen takes up half of the screen itself

It has it's hardware flaws but it is also very flexible being the closest thing to a native windows pc. Would recommend over steam deck initial release. But definitely no need to worry about performance.
