Great for the college student or the dad sitting on the couch. Kids can be happy and veg out on sponge bob and dad can keep on gaming and still be in the same space!

Saw this and thought why not!! ASUS is kinda terrible, really buggy when I was trying to set up an account, and also just really tedious to use. Not to mention the defects that came out the box. SD card reader was broken when I got it, a defect thats been pretty widely documented, with the chance of destroying your SD card if you aren't careful. Had to send it in to get it repaired which took 2 weeks, doesn't even come with a case. Honestly I'd never recommend this to anyone, buy a steam deck

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you had issues with the ROG Ally. ASUS is an ISO certified company, as a result, all products go into a strict quality manufacturing standard. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections that ensure each one is trouble-free, and are built to last. We are aware of the SD card reader issue and a hardware fix was implemented to resolve this. To resolve the stability and performance issues, please update Windows, drivers, BIOS and the Armoury Crate utility software if outdated. Updates for the device are posted at: https://rog.asus.com/us/gaming-handhelds/rog-ally/rog-ally-2023/helpdesk_bios/. Configure the game and video settings inside the Armoury Crate utility. Additionally, if you are playing these games online, please ensure the device has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/.

Windows just needs a mode to make it easier to select things. Using the joystick for a mouse works but can be tricky sometimes.

But the trade off is it's more powerful and access to your windows games on Game Pass or any other non Steam service. I love mine. It won't replace my gaming rig but it's perfect for on the go.

More importantly, there are plenty of recourses online to tune the ROG Ally to get optimal performance for your games. For example, I'm able to get 60 FPS with Cyberpunk 2077.
