Absolutely love it. Has helped me enjoy gaming again in 2023. Haven't touched my gaming PC in weeks because of it. Zero problems what's so ever! Word of advice, ignore the subreddit when making a decision to purchase lol.

I love this thing. I wasn't completely aold onnthe rog ally, but it was on sale so i took the chance. Never going back. I will never use a laptop for gaming again.

Amazing graphics and a comfortable gaming experience. You better be good at computers and patches and the difference in where you need to pull updates from because the amount of effort and research I had to put in made me lose interest in the device because every time I installed a new game I had to update something. I can’t provide an equivalent yet but I’m probably going to sell this and try out the steam deck.

White case sucks, and gets visibly filthy quick. Other than that it works very well. Good for helldivers 2

It blows even highest tier steam deck out of the water with hardware inside of it, and the freedom to add software as if it was a windows laptop is a huge win. Would recommend if you have the extra cash.

Its pretty good it’s just that the battery life is the only real downside but I get it it’s a lot of power from the device.

Runs The Isle well. I use an emulator to play my mobile games as well. This runs everything extremely smoothly. My only complaint is that I have to hold it like a football to type in chat.

This thing is awesome. My sd cards work. Pretty much a windows machine with controller. Ssd can be upgraded and some people have had problems with their sd cards so beware and do more research to see if it works for you

Easily worth the price tag, if you're looking for a great way to play PC games on the go, or if you're like me and you enjoy emulation, this is the way to go, it has just the right processing power, and you can customize it

I really like this device. I use to have a steam deck and I will say in some cases it is better. Just be ready to sit next to an outlet at times.

The device basically works. The pro of having windows is also the main issue with it. A lot of the issues i have are due to the fact that I don't want to tinker with the device in order to get my games running well. I also don't like touching the screen, which is absolutely necessary unless you have a keyboard and mouse connected. I suppose I was looking for an experience similar to the Steam Deck. The Ally isn't near as user friendly, and for a device that runs windows, it's really cumbersome to operate with joysticks and buttons. My biggest complaint though is the VRR. For a device that has a 120hz screen and VRR, the implementation is awful. Your games will stutter if the framerate drops below 90fps even with VRR enabled. It's really unfortunate, and I haven't heard anyone else address this issue, but it's there. I really hope ASUS continues to update the device, because it does have potential. It just feels unfinished right now. Couple that with the difficulty of using windows with a touchscreen and controller, and it's not a pleasant experience. However, if you don't mind fiddling with it, you'll probably love it. It is powerful, and not constrained by Steam OS, so a fair amount of games I've wanted to play on the Deck but couldn't, are fully playable on the Ally. If they would fix the VRR if possible, that would be great. That and the framerate limiter which at the time of this review still doesn't work properly.

Always surprised by these handheld pcs, but the ram is really holding this model back.

The Asus Rog Ally has been a buggy mess. The first issue was that if you let it go to sleep, it wouldn’t wake up. It wouldn’t turn on with the power button or with any other button. Only a hard reset and then the device would power up. This happened twice and then I wouldn’t let it go to sleep. Then it made me reset my PIN for no good reason. Plus I never got the fingerprint sensor to work after I set it up. The next major issue was left speaker would go in and out. Typically once I started a game, suddenly the left speaker would stop working. I would restart the game and the speaker still wouldn’t work. I would reboot the device and the issue would persist. Once rebooting a second time and the left speaker came back. I don’t know why the left speaker would go in and out. The last straw was that I turned on the device and then the Rog Allly wouldn’t boot and instead showed the BitLocker recovery screen. I didn’t know what the key was, so I turned it off. It eventually booted up correctly, but then I knew that this device had serious issues. I don’t know how the device got reviewed so well. The screen is really the only standout feature. But so many things don’t work right with this device that weren’t captured in any review. And I bought the Steam Deck shortly after launch and that had a lot of bugs, but at least it always turned on. So I would recommend against buying a Rog Ally.

It is really convenient to have something like this where i can play xbox games but also download emulators to play. It’s like having all the retro and new games in palm of my hands

While the device performs phenomenally when working unfortunately it does not yet seem to be ready for prime time. Unfortunate noticed issues included control stick dead zones that weren’t addressed by ASUS in the two weeks since launch. Additionally this device killed several SD cards and has occurred on multiple devices as well. Until these issues are resolved I can’t recommend this device

The ROG Ally has surpassed every expectation. This is everything I hoped the switch would be. The hardware is exceptional. It is quiet and cool when gaming. There are tons of options to tweak the settings to your liking. It runs windows 11 which is mostly ok. Not a perfect pairing, but with a little tweaking, this becomes mostly a non issue. Asus armory crate is better than I thought it would be. Steam big picture, Xbox game pass, battlenet all run really well. I’ve used this as a pc with a usb c dock as well. Connecting a mouse, keyboard and monitor was very easy. This worked really well and just worked.

Excellent product! It works as a small but powerful PC. It's boring to stay in front of the monitor to play games. ROG Ally is the best product in the market. I enjoy playing using it.
