I collect handhelds and this is my favorite, powerful lite(for its size), runs cool, beautiful screen. Really happy with this handheld and how quickly it arrived at my home.

Man i love this thing - lots of updates like a PC but once up and running its amazing!! Native Game Pass, Steam, everyrjing runs great - and the screen and sound yes please!!

I Love it! It's basically a handheld laptop. But unlike all the others out there Asus will continue to push updates and support fixing old problems and addressing new ones. You don't really get that with the other indiegogo or crowd funded devices. The built in Armorcrate and easy to use tweaking controls are amazing, My one and only complaint is battery life, but when using top of the line components you should expect some parts to have to catch up with a little time. Also thank you Best Buy for your $60 a month for 12 months plan. It made it much easier to afford such a great gift for my Sons birthday.

I have owned this device for almost 2 years. I got it on launch day! This has been my gaming PC for a year until I got my own laptop. I still use this handheld a a lot. I game in the couch, bed, and plane. I even bought this to Japan so I could still play Valorant (150FPS - Set to Low Quality) during my trip. Controllers are still great, no stick drift or whatsoever. I haven't had problems with the fans either. Windows is more convenient for me after all even in handhelds when it comes to gaming. There is the new Ally X, but I'll stick to this one until the next generation comes. Wish they released this one with the black version too just like the Ally X.

As a newbie to computers, this was very intuitive. Very powerful device. I take it everywhere, best purchase in a long time

Got rhis today for Christmas from my Wife. Absolutely amazing, pairs well with my Asus gaming laptop. From the moment I turned it on and set it up they were integrated with each other, super easy setup and super cool to play games on. I would recommend this to everyone.

My experience with the Ally has been fantastic! One thing to keep in mind is this is a device running full on windows. Its not a switch where you turn on put in a game and go. Driver, firmware, software updates are a must! Initial setup, before installing a game can take up to 2 hours making sure everything is updated but after this things run buttery smooth. Taking advantage of AMD RSR is a huge plus! If you're not familiar with PC gaming you may need to be more patient with launching and various other tasks that aren't needed for traditional consoles. This thing is awesome though and should be given a fair realistic shot.

A lot of the big tech review youtube and/or tiktok pages are very misleading. This device is 100% worth buying, especially when taking advantage of the open-box deals. Runs games smoother than the steam deck and with windows 10 integrated, it will only to continue to outperform it’s competitors. The early release kinks will be worked out by ASUS. Definitely recommend buying this device if you’re an experienced PC gamer and tech junkie. I haven’t put it down since I got it and my PC misses me.

Its the best wau to play pc games on the go. Its also really good if you need to do some quick web browsing or even play games docked at home better than a laptop by a mile

THE BEST HANDHELD HANDS DOWN. Especially paired with XG Rog Mobile. I can not stress enough that this is better than a steam deck. This is pretty much win11 w/ steam deck abilities, and more freedom to do whatever because its a handheld windows pc. If you do end up getting this product I highly recommend a mobile gpu. The handheld can handle all AAA games, at about 30-40 fps @ 30watts, and this is with ultra graphic setting! very comparable to playing ps4 back in the day on the tv! I use this because I travel a lot, a lot of travel work! You can also expand the storage!

Great device! Plays every game I've tried on high settings well, just wish it had better battery life.

Works very well with the windows games I have that can't be played on Steam Deck (ie. Overwatch 2 & Gundam Battle Operations 2). My only negative is the SDcard reader flaw that se3ms to be happening to practically everyone. Tried Sandisk and Samsung 512gb and they both stopped. Popped them in my laptop and was reading fine. It's a flaw within the ROG Ally software. If they get that fixed, I'll give it 5 stars. Until then... I'll just have to have everything on the SSD!

Great performance and a sleek design. The user interface could be better designed to help streamline useage to newcomers of windows based devices. The software/firmware/bios could always be updated to help alleviate the aforementioned issues and battery life concerns. The controller aspect of the handheld hasn’t given me any issues and the 1080p screen is perfect for the size of the device. Overall I am happy with the product and as long as Asus keeps providing new updates.

I bought this hand-held gaming machine after some research I'd made online. I had a couple more options on my mind, but when I visited the store to experience the display product, I decided that this was what I wanted and needed. Ordered online and picked it up in store in only 30 minutes! If you want this machine for gaming needs mainly, definitely get the Z1 Extreme model! I love my ROG Ally since day one! Thanks BestBuy for the $100 discount.

This is coming out after the steam deck obviously I've had the steam deck for quite some time installed a one terabyte drive in it and for all the games I've played mostly racing games The Experience on the steam deck was much better because it's easier to hold for larger hands I'm 6'1 by the way the joysticks are bigger than on the Rog Ally the joysticks on the Rog Ally are more like the switch joycons and they're really loose no point where they snap back to the middle but there's just no tension so fine movements are tough the positives you can play more games potentially if that's what you want but I don't see people playing competitive shooters with these controls anyway and more positive for it the dual fan design is definitely better than the steam deck single fan because even when it's audible it's barely Audible and it keeps pretty cool but if you crank up the performance all the way your battery will be dead in minutes so realistically you need it set to 15 watts and use the screen a little bit dimmer vrr is nice on the screen makes it really Snappy plus the refresh rate being 120 but it just seems Overkill because you're not really going to hit that with those games on battery standby mode is not great battery dies quite quickly losing 10%, in a matter of an hour and a half all of that being said maybe by the time the cheaper version of the Rog Ally comes out it be a better option but right now I will get the cheapest steam deck and put a one or two terabyte SSD in it takes 5 minutes plus 10 to reinstall the OS valve makes it really easy I really wanted to like the Rog Ally it's just not ready yet Windows is not great handheld and the screen resolution windows with the keyboard is tough and it just has angles for me that are not comfortable with asymmetrical joysticks as an update it downloaded and installed a new firmware and now my buttons don't work when they were working fine before the next Rog Ally may be great but the first attempt it's not there yet

Handheld PC; Gaming on it is great, very convenient and if you’re just trying to unwind after a whole day of work and not enough time to actually sit down in front of the setup. Very responsive; I’ve used it as a regular pc, connected on a display & m+kb, and it works great.

Love the rog! It was easy set up for me. Im only using the Rog for gaming. I love the gaming hub. All my gaming apps and games in a single area is handy! Wish the battery lasted longer but im usually on my couch so i can have it plugged in. Definitely recommended!

I love this device. It has enough power to play a game on turbo mode for about an hour. It’s just like a regular windows computer with a touch screen and controller built in. You can also use the right thumbstick sort of like a mouse. The rear paddle buttons are nice. It’s great for farming things casually in World of Warcraft when combined with a wireless mouse. It’s important to do all of the updates for it though, they fix a lot of problems.

Where battery capacity maybe lacking, this more than makes up for it with the sure power and performance it is capable of doing. If you know what Star Citizen is then you should understand how ridiculous it is that this can run it with no tweaking and at 30+fps. Steam Deck can't do that. The windows 11 OS is actually really convenient for something of this size and the amount of accessories available make this into a potential "whatever you want it to be" machine. Runs better than my work laptop

Absolutely awesome!!! I have so many games on PC and the Ally has allowed me to take them with me anywhere I go! I play it a lot in hand held, but in my backpack, I have a keyboard, mouse, dock, Xbox controller and HDMI so that when I’m going somewhere I’m going to be stationary (like a hotel or to stay with family) it’s like taking my whole pc in a backpack, that can be unplugged and go to the recliner with me for handheld gaming! I’m in love with this thing!
