Awesome personal pc, great performance but battery life is limited if you run it pass 20w, plays all the latest games like Diablo 4, COD, and Cyberpunk.

I own a gaming laptop but never got around to completing any games however since owning the ally Z1 Extreme I've completed lots of games so far. It's just so much easier to game on the ally. I olay 80% of the times plugged in because outlets are literally everywhere these days so battery life isn't a problem. I honestly dont mind not being able to use the sd card slot though it would've been a nice plus. Great overall device. I would definitely recommend buying one.

The ROG Ally is fantastic for playing so many games from different launcher platforms and it’s so versatile compared to other handhelds like the steam deck, but it has a few cons. 1) Updating the Ally’s software via MyASUS app. Updating the Ally relies on The MyASUS which sucks for me because the MyASUS app would launch blank white every time which is super inconvenient. 2) Unable to play a few certain games like Spider-Man Remastered on steam for example, every time I launch the game there would be a couple error windows popped up saying “Display driver error” or “GPU needs to be updated” I’m not sure if it’s just me or if it’s unable to recognize that it’s running of an APU (CPU and GPU hybrid)???????? 3) The SD card reader transfers at EXTREMELY slow speeds no matter how good your WiFi connection is. No matter what I could never get more than 10MBps when downloading anything but I’m sure that’s already been addressed by ASUS. 4) The Armoury Crate SE app. For me im not really sure what it’s for other than to quick launch apps and games and configure limited amount of things, but I wish you can update the handheld’s software on this app other than a separate app like the MyASUS app. As I mentioned before, the ROG Ally is great but it needs some fixes and tweaks.

The item was essentially like new! I was surprised to see every item in the box and the device working as it should. I’m absolutely obsessed with my ASUS ROG and even happier that Best Buy offered a fantastic open box device.

Love it,compact computer that can play all my games ,and it is in great price. 512gb in todays gaming is not a lot of storage but it is expandable.

A hand held PC ready to be personalized and optimized. Can run in variable watts and will perform better than a switch or steam deck performance wise. Battery consumption not so much. Runs on windows 11, steam and Microsoft store come installed, other launchers readily available. 3 months of gamepass. Switched out the internal m.2 for a 2tb, micro SD cards ported on fan cooled vented dock with mouse and keyboard attached and a portable display on the way Overall a nifty gadget.

Coming from the Steam Deck it’s just a great upgrade! Thw screen, sound, touch capbility, and performance sre just remarkable! Plus it’s much lighter!

I have been PC gaming for a long while, I have a few ASUS computers under my belt. That being said, I have experienced an unusual SD card issue with this device. I use reputable brand cards in all my devices, I update and care for my computers. My sd card began to fail, slowing down file explorer to a crawl, not letting me use task manager, and not letting me do a system shut down, All issues went away when the card was removed. I placed the card in a 360 camera, drone, and another computer. The card was still functional, in fact it was still functional with the ally via an external USB C sd card reader. The Ally sd card slot was also still functional with a 2nd card I purchased, and a few old cards I had laying round. But I discontinued use out of caution. Other than that, this device and its possibilities are outstanding. To be able to play PC games on the go in a handheld formfactor, and also to dock and play in a desktop type setup is amazing. I did about a week worth of research every day i got off work everywhere from reviews to teardowns to ssd upgrades to what game are compatiable. I was thinking the steam deck but this opens up a world to play any game the steam deck but better and a lot more game options. Im not limited to steam only i can play any game u can put on a gaming pc i did purchase a 1tb ssd for this bad boy althoigh with cloud gaming available now i diddnt really need that mich extra memore the 512gb is plenty. This thing is a beast

Incredibly, this plays older (but still modern) games like Fallout 4 pretty well. I’d say the performance is comparable to an Xbox One or Playstation 4. It’s arguably more user friendly for casual gamers than Steam Deck, and I have zero issues modding games since it runs Windows. I went in expecting to have play games on super low settings and I’ve been pleasantly surprised!

Brought it last month, this Asus rog ally works perfectly fine honestly it's A plus purchase, games run fine, windows 11 is actually not bad on the device

As stated this bad boy can play pretty much every game better with higher details than the steam deck PLUS it has native windows, which for me i pefer to linux on the steam deck. However i personally wish that it had 4 paddles on the back like the steam deck but i think im in a minority on that cuz the face buttons are more than good enough im just spoiled from the xbox elite controller. Overall i love the ally and i bring it everywhere and it has pretty much replaced my steam deck and inthink its worth the price diffrence to me.

I love how easy it is able to be used! Even though it's running Windows 11, it's like a compact version of it and Asus put their software on there to help better the experience with your games! Once you understand how everything works, it's a remarkable experience! Playing games wherever you like is amazing! The only downside to it is the battery life when gaming. It does die quicker without being on the plug, but its understandable since it's like a gaming PC. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Im a pc and console gamer, I enjoy the portability and power of this device. Playing AAA games on the go or in the comfort of my bed is great.

I absolutely love my Ally, I play this thing every day and has become my main mobile gaming device! Destiny 2 on this thing is wonderful!

It is a pretty awesome system. Basically like having a series x or pc in your hand. The best part is not constrained to your home when you want game. So far I have taken it to an auto shop and had to wait while they fixed my car, that would have been boring without an ally. I also have a nice setup at work to make downtime more enjoyable. 10 out 10 reccomend. I will say there were some hiccups here and there , but nothing that wants me to make a return. I also never used my sd card slot in case you was wondering.

I needed a new computer for work in school but also wanted a new console to play with for downtime. I was a little skeptical and getting a hand held console but after looking at all the reviews for this, I caved and it was probably one of the best purchases I've ever made. It's nice to have it available from my office space to game on a monitor and to be able to sit and game in the living room with while my wife watches her reality TV shows.
