I bought this console for my boyfriend and he says it is nice. He is really into portable game consoles since he is always on the go. So far no problems and downloads games easily.

Purchased this as a combination of a portable work station and gaming system. The idea of a full Windows installation alongside cutting edge portable gaming features made it too good to pass up. It was cheaper than a laptop and I don't actually need much more than the RAM and OS for my workstation aspects. Unfortunately, the gaming half fell short. After performing a lot of setup and installing my first game, I was greeted by what sounded like blown speakers. WHOA THERE! Don't click reply yet. I turned the performance up to 15W and there was some improvement until I got into the action. DROP THE MOUSE! I also disabled spacial audio. I was finally able to play a game with audio... until I reached an area with higher pitched music. I thought I was just imaging it, but the crackle returned. I read where someone said that if you notice more crackle at 16Hz, it may be a speaker issue. As luck would have it, that is exactly the setting for the test sound in Windows. It was crystal clear. It's unlikely the speakers are actually blown out of the box, but I can't help wondering if the crackle is eventually going to damage them and how much I really want a gaming device where gaming is the issue.

The 2 star rating is for customer service, excellent customer care however the 2 star represents more of the item it’s self which btw lives up to its reputation as being problematic. Problems include overheating SD card reader over heating battery not holding charges bios version being limited due to 335 being a total lag fest etc. however the problems I’ve encountered are bios version 335 being so laggy the device is completely rendered useless and windows would need to be reinstalled and bios version downgraded. The device did not hold a charge without being plugged in after a period of 3 weeks of usage. Device would not charge past 84% either. Right out of the box in the armory crate stream app did not function correctly and had to be completely removed and reinstalled did not detect apps until I update windows and bios version to 334. I like ASUS products however this thing was a total failure for me. Don’t take my word for it maybe it will work for you so go pay Best Buy a nice 600-700$ for this thing :)

Love this handheld but it does need some software updates. I feel the software and battery life are the only thing holding it back.

I had to get it replaced or fixed 4 times. It was lemoned out so I would recommend getting a service plan. Great when it worked but the overheating and motherboard were a huge problem

Pretty good for the price and technology but battery life is just not there right now even at lower wattage and less demanding games.

I love my rog ally perfect for gaming and even to be used as my main PC. I know theres lots of people having issues and complaining a lot but to be honest mine runs perfect so far.

Literally doubles the performance of the Steam Deck while doubling Image Quality, very good for the price! Add in a portable monitor, and you have a complete gamer laptop replacement

Awesome device a beast of a gaming system paired with game pass and steam this device has replaced most of my consoles

Great little device. Wonderful for gaming on the couch away from the home PC or remote streaming on the couch or on the TV. It's been doing it's job pretty admirably so far.

Awesome handheld pc if you’re looking to play games at a high quality 1080p with low settings to see an average of 40-60 fps. On 720p, even more fps but you adjust to your preferences.

Great device, great performance and easy to use. Just want something with a bigger screen so I upgraded to the Legion

most of the hardware is pretty good but windows is pretty jank so I’d recommend throwing Linux on it. I got a good condition open box and the sd card reader never worked and it seems like one of the fans is going out. If you get it open box it’s probably a good deal I heard there’s a new revision with better quality now so pay attention to what build date you have

Really love this just a few little things here and there which hopefully we get taken care of with bios updates and software updates

Despite hick-ups, like the SD Card malfunctioning and overall Windows quirks, this is an excellent handheld for the die hard gamer.

This isn't "twice as powerful" as the steam deck like Asus claimed. Thumbstick caps feel like they should have been sitting tighter on the stems because you can feel a decent amount of wiggling, face buttons have a lot of play to them as in they tilt around and rattle more than most others. The minimum dead zone on the sticks is too large, meaning you can never fully eliminate that dead zone which makes accuracy and navigating windows sort of a pain. The screen on my unit was installed slightly crooked which wouldn't be a huge deal but this handheld was expensive and I expected better attention to detail. My unit came pre-scratched on the top which is also not a huge deal but.. $700. Cherry on top for me was this ongoing sd card issue. I really wanted to love this one and over all I really do, but I'm going to return and wait for a revised version as I don't want to risk it breaking my sd cards. Real bummer but oh well.

Awesome handheld with as much (and more) power than my built gaming PC that cost more than it. Loved it since I got it and have not put it down.

I love this device. It has played every game I have thrown at it. It does require a little more tinkering than a console does, but most of that is just making sure it has all updates.

I love the product. It’s great, battery life is excellent for having windows and being able to double the wattage of the steam deck. My only complaint is for $700 asus should have included a carry case. The lack of accessories was a major disappointment. Granted I knew this at purchase but I still feel as if asus should have included this. If you don’t care about this then I encourage you to get one. For those who want more storage on a budget, just get an external drive and run it through the usb-c port.

Overall amazing! While there have been some bugs, the updates have fixed them quickly and the games run at about an average of 60fps. Perfect for those who are constantly on the go!
