So far this thing has been awesome. Ive had a few crashes and ive had one SD card fail due to the heat. Despite this, its a super nice and I’m glad I bought it. Hopefully some futher updates will smooth out the rough edges.

100% the windows handheld I was looking for! The Ally has helped my gamer block I’ve been having for years! No issues at all, it’s honestly a dream to play Xbox gamepass, Steam, Blizzard, & Riot games all in one place! Definitely recommended to any one looking for this experience!

Look, this device has huge potential but has many flaws. Let me begin with my first biggest issue and that is the charger block. It only lasted for one charge and decided to die.. so I had to use a spare 45w usb c power bank to make it run again. OS: Sadly this is a microsoft interface with asus software. The bad thing about this is that windows has many flaws and those affect the user. For example I had to set up my PIN code twice but I couldn't log in using my outlook account and to verify I'm the owner of the account I had to enter a code that was sent to me via another e-mail.. Well this code is only 6 digits and on my ROG ally it was supposed to be a 7 digit code so I was literally unable to start using my ROG ally because I had to log in first but couldn't. FIX for this issue: go to your email settings and add a phone number, this code will work and you'll be able to log in and set up your pin code. Stability is a big issue since this handheld is being treated the same as a desktop or laptop computer which means games are not 100% optimized to fully use all the resources of the device leading to stuttering and instability. Yes I updated BIOS, Windows, Armoury crate and my ASUS to make sure I had everything up to date but still same issues. Design: I have large hands and the way you'd normally hold the device would force me to have a weird grip making it weird to use the joysticks properly. I would blame the lack of thicker grips on the device since the ones it has are very slim so you'll also run into finger placement issues on the back of the hanheld. Wish right stick was at the same height as the left one at least. To finish it all let me mention the included stand. It's made out of plastic and could use a horizontal design instead of a vertical one. But hey at least they give you a stand that kind of does the job. Sadly will have to return this and maybe give it another chance in a couple months to see if it's been fixed..

Nothing like being able to play on the go and be productive with email and business needs i have. This thing is amazing and you need to play with it a little bit to get it working but after that, get your favorite games and this thing I'm pretty much play .anything you need

Was worth it, fun gaming device on the go or you can just chill on the couch and game and relax great for single player games.

I love this device so much , it’s not just a pc it’s an all around gaming machine spectacular graphics. User friendly , I love the size and how you can do everything a 5000 pc can do and more . The best investment ever

I’ve been considering a handheld PC since before the launch of the Steam Deck but no device ticked all the boxes that mattered to me until the Ally. This is a great device that is powerful for the price, is extremely easy to use, and the screen is miles better than the Steam Deck.

Power hunger but powerful The ROG Ally is amazing and with the right firmware will only get better i play using handheld mode and casting to my lg c2 tv as well as docked with all th functions of pc adding a bt keyboard and mouse i can play every game i own across all platforms

I got my unit on launch date and ever since is working very good. Setting up windows it was time consuming but once you have it all you can start playing games from xbox game pass, steam and others. I haven't use the sd card slot so until today no problems on that area.

Been using this handheld console for a couple weeks now and it’s a beast. If you’re on the fence whether you should buy this or the steam deck just for the rog ally. Only negative is the poor battery life

This is great. Does everything I wanted. Purchased a keyboard for use when doing the occasional homework assignment when not near my computer. Will probably add some storage eventually. Highly recommend the extreme (top) model

This is an amazing device. I have been using it to play everything from retro games all the way up to Starfield which is a recent release. I also use it with a dock to check emails and other light tasks. Definitely recommend!

It is exceeding my expectations. Didn't expect a top of the line gaming computer for $700, but it is running everything smoothly at decent settings. Well worth the purchase. Looking forward to some of the versatility once I can purchase some more accessories.

I bought this gift for my husband as a father day gift. He said it has been the best gift ever I have not seen him put that Rog Ally down since I bought it for him!

This is a very good handheld, little toough to set up but once thays done its amazing

I am not loving this device. I held off on getting a SteamDeck because I felt there were still many improvements needed before it could replace a traditional console. The Ally Extreme peaked my interest because it seemed to have everything I wanted, except the price which was a bit high. With the price being about $100-200 too high, I excepted the best glitch and lag free experience available. Unfortunately that was not my experience. While it may be faulted down to being a Windows 11 issue, the constant updates, the lackluster battery, the ALMOST great performance when connected to my TV, and some other issues prevent me from even labeling this “good” for the price. I wish I could return it, but the return window was shorter than expected. I turn it on. It turns off. I try this multiple times and it keeps happening. I plug it it only to find it it fully charged but just needed to be plugged in to work. Then I try to open steam and search for something. I try to type in the text boxes and nothing works. I have to copy and paste to type. This is the official Steam App… The internet connect just disappears. Even the Xbox Elite 2 controller doesn’t work perfectly and it’s frustrating that there isn’t a better working controller. I also tested it with a PS4 (worked outside of GamePass) controller and Switch Pro (worked outside of GamePass). My final and biggest issue is that when I am connected to my TV, pop ups and other things will come up where I have to unplug from the dock and use ONLY the touch screen to complete as no other options work. So while yes, it can play any game out there now, and is capable of a great experience, in the short time I have had it, I have been more frustrated with it than any other game console or computer I have ever had. I will likely be selling it as I cannot return it.
