I'm sure many of the reviews are bringing up hardware problems. I've had none. My purchase is still working perfectly after about a month. I do believe many of the issues are from people that aren't familiar with Windows. They likely did not run on the updates on the software and drivers and became frustrated with performance because of that. It's not a console. It's a laptop in a handheld format. It requires software updates just like any other computer. I'm sure there are people with legitimate issues, but I've had none. I purchased the Ally as an upgrade from the Steam Deck. The 1080p, paired with the fast CPU and GPU makes it a far better choice for me. The screen alone is worth the upgrade. The Ally running on Windows allows you to install any launcher (not just Steam) without issues. You could do the same on the Steam Deck, but it basically required you to install a 3rd party launcher to launch your other launchers. Always seemed ridiculous to me. Basically, know that it's just a laptop in a different format. If you are comfortable with that and the Windows OS, you'll love it.

Very nice portable Diablo 4 box. Plays everything I own within reason. There are SD card reader issues; however with the ease of upgrading the NVME drive I don't use the reader anyways. So far updates after purchase have been fairly regular.

The best Windows handheld computer, with the best design resulting in the best performance.

I have loved my ROG Ally and being able to play games everywhere in my house. It plays most of my games very well. It is also a great Nintendo Switch replacement with my emulated games. I did have an issue with the SD card reader, but ASUS was quick to RMA and fix the issue.

Great for casual gaming and as a handheld pc. Can easily use steam and other launchers. Looks and feel more premium than steam deck. Two minor issues i had: squeaky triggers and low quality when playing aaa games. Casual gand retro gamer will have an amazing experience!

I absolutely love it. I got a great deal used and it's a MONSTER of a machine!

I recommend this over the steam deck as I have had no issue with it. Runs eso without needing false drivers. I only got rid of it to upgrade to the ally x. My neice has my old device and loves it.

Runs smooth. Looks great. Have had a lot of fun playing Diablo4 on it and a handful of other games on the go when I travel. Only lost a star due to low battery life and rough start before new updates fixed the bugs.

Really fun and convenient to bring outside the house

This an amazing device on the bleeding edge. Windows has little quirks and isn't setup for a handheld, but Linux can't beat its combability with games and ant-cheat. It's fast and the 120hz VRR screen is bright and just amazing for a handheld.

First, yes. The battery life isn't great. But the thing pulls power, and has something to show for it! Its been a wonderful device to have around for quick easy gaming in a pinch, and with a usbc dock it even does well as a mobile workstation with portable peripherals! I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Very fast and games play very well. Took me a long time to get used to the fact I'm holding a PC in my hands but loving it. There's a lot of little things that the device does not tell you so I do recommend watching "## beginner tips for rog ally" videos. The reason it isn't a 5 is because of two things: storage space and battery life. 512 GB is incredibly small for this device. The way games are going now you can't even fit to COD Warzones in the device. Battery life is also very short. I usually get around 3 hours of game time using the middle options of power usage I couldn't imagine using the higher settings.

i was scared to buy an open box product, but everything works great. The refurbish department did a great job with it.

So far so good. The only issue is windows 11. Sometimes you need a keyboard and mouse and the touch screen and pop up keyboard just aren’t going to cut it. The true winner here is the screen. It’s amazing and gaming on it is a joy.

It’s fun and runs things surprisingly well when plugged into power on handheld it struggles when not in turbo mode but that does drain the battery pretty quickly. I did get it open box and had no problems at all it does everything I want it to do

Powerful, compact, and large enough to play Retro, PC, and Emulators comfortably. The ally balanced the Power and Price, yes you can get a slightly faster machine for way more or a slow 720p for less. This hit the sweet spot.

This rogue ally is a beast of a handheld console my first ever and I love it. I had a PS portal and it was completely trash and who wants to play games over Wi-Fi, rog I can take it with me to work on trips play games off-line. I love it graphics or amazing.

ASUS ROG Ally is definitely a contender for one of the best windows handhelds. It performs great and has an absolutely beautiful screen. Now windows just needs to optimize its platform for handheld gaming.

Freedom to play any game I want from my favorite childhood games to new PC releases. Easy launcher and good standby battery life. Doubles as a home PC for when I do want to use a full windows desktop experience. Only downside is battery life.

This is a great gaming hand held! Works and runs smoother than I ever thought. One down side is the battery does not last very long. But overall a great alternative to a PC
