Ally is very competitive gaming device with very good gaming capabilities. The storage should have been 1 Tb or higer as 512 GB gets filled up with just 5 to 6 gamesh.

I bought this as a return but the only issue I see with it is that the buttons aren’t as sensitive as I’d like (and I’m not sure if that’s cuz it’s a return or if the buttons are just like that) Otherwise, I ABSOLUTELY love that it’s just a Windows machine in a fun skin. I’m even able to work on it lol it definitely has a learning curve and isn’t plug and play like a Switch; again, it’s a Windows machine with Windows OS on it. They didn’t even slim down the UI to make it feel more “hand held” like it’s just a PC. I’ve had no problem running any of my games even at their highest settings but the battery is a little short and it physically gets pretty hot (think like an old laptop from 2013)

I was extremely excited to grab the Ally on sale during black friday. It has really made me enjoy PC gaming and was fairly priced considering it is for both gamers and a average PC user. Two thing I would love to see on the successor would be an OLED screen and longer batter, however it still doesn't make me regret my purchase.

Runs everything you need to like a champ. Also it's windows 11, so that's a bonus. Games such as Tekken 8 have locked 60fps on medium. Baldur's gate 3 split-screen coop works at 30+ on low. Street fighter 6 gets locked 60 at high-ultra settings. This little machine worked well at the $600 I bought it for, to see it go even lower makes it so much more accessible. I am not the biggest fan of its D-Pad for fighting games, however I mostly use external controllers. Storage is 512 gb, so it is upgradable if you tear it apart, or slap an SD card in it. I recommend the Rog Ally Z1E, even if you don't want to spring for the X.

I was skeptical at first but the performance well exceeded my expectations and unlike the Steam Deck Oled this is a hand-held Windows 11 high-performance PC. Not a Steam OS handheld that doesn't run every AAA title.

Awesome handheld for that gaming session that cant wait while nature calls. Unplug, take it with you, finish that dungeon, wipe and done! Good specs for a few bucks less that other Windows handhelds while being a few bucks more than that OtherOS handheld gaming device.

I absolutely love my ally. It plays all my games beautifully. I have had some issues with it running hot, or sometimes the controlls glitching. Other than that it is an amazing device, I just wish the HDMI port was included instead of having to buy it separately.

Great little machine that allows me to play most of my games like WoW from the comfort of my couch. It does get a little hot after prolonged play sessions but has still handled everything like a champ.

Fast, good graphics, and easy to use. I bought this, then promptly bought my wife one.

I did love this, especially for the price I paid for it. But ultimately I returned it. One morning I looked down and had a giant battery pack, USB splitter, extra external storage and I thought to myself...it makes more sense to return this for the X. But it still is a beast for the price!

Overall great device Asus finally stepped up and the latest updates make this thing great. Definitely factor in the SD issue problem though because I believe it is hardware related.

Great product, runs games good, feels great, BUT the sd card reader has issues. and i got 2 of them and they both do.great price made it worth it tho.

Bought this as a gift for my little brother, (10) he’s not super familiar with windows but he hasn’t run into any issues yet, had to explain all the areas that he needs to check for updates but other than that it’s really not that difficult. Have not installed any other OS because he uses game pass and it’s nice having every game available to play. Only minor issue is battery, can only play about an hour but for someone young that’s a good thing

Best handheld in the market right now. I like how the rog ally preforms and how a powerful it’s but the only down fall is the battery life. But it’s still my favorite device so for when it come to a portable gaming device.

I loved this thing I really don’t like to game for a while sitting down and picking this up and playing it everywhere is amazing. The graphics and the gameplay is awesome too and I would recommend this

I really enjoy everything so far about the Ally. It’s doing everything I wanted it for. It runs Fallen Order and Baldur’s Gate at a playable FPS. Only thing to bare in mind is the battery life could be better, but that’s about it

Most of the issues you can see them on YouTube. I love the device since I travel for a living but wish the battery lasted longer. Since I upgraded the SSD to a 2TB there’s no need for the SD Card reader but mine failed and now trying to get some support from ASUS.

Great machine runs world of warcraft with ease just dies within 2 hours of playing world of warcraft if not on charger bu5 if plug in even if gaming only take 45 mins - an hour to fully charge

I bought my rog ally z1 extreme used in good condition and i could swear that it was brand new. The portability and power make for a great combo. The speakers have great range and volume also.
