Works reasonably well, recent update seems to limit the use of the joysticks for some things. Some game compatibility isn’t ideal. I’d suggest looking around a bit on reddit or other channels for whatever games you’re intending to use it on to see how well it does or doesn’t work.

This is an amazing product. If you are a PC gamer that wants to play anywhere I highly recommend this product. Where the Steam Deck excels the ROG ALLY goes further. Having Windows is both a negative and a positive. Being able to play all your PC games from any launcher is fantastic. ASUS onboard controls and settings are quite accessible and gives you a ton of control on your handheld experience. Battery life sucks we all know it but there enough accessories in the world to overcome this issue.

Not a fan of this device at all it has windows 11 on there so if your not familiar with it and all its little issues that go along with it then this is not for you. Tinkering is a must to get most games to a playable state, which is fine but if your coming from console “this is not plug and play” like say a steam deck and or Nintendo switch. Battery life is terrible plan on purchasing a power bank and or be somewhere that has an outlet. SD card reader is a common problem with this item, this can be remedied by installing a ssd inside the unit and or using adapters on the outside of the unit which in turn will work also. Choice is yours when it comes to purchasing this device personally I wish I would have returned it during the 15 day warranty that Best Buy offers, but now I’m stuck with it going to put it up on eBay or marketplace to get some money back from my investment. More power to those people who swear by this device that’s cool just realized it’s not for me and that’s fine also

Sinister device! I use it for media playback and of course gaming. It can run any emulation of any console and even handle AAA games. Star Rail runs like a dream. Great idea on me to buy this.

Big fan of this product. Love how im able to use it when im away from my PC to still remain playing with friends. The battery itself is short but with the introduction of these pc handhelds its not uncommon

It's a good device, it's not perfect but it works great. There are times when it's clunky to use for typing but the more you use it, the easier it gets. I found using either reddit or asus for the recommended game settings gives the best results. Following those settings can make the difference between keeping and returning the device. The last problem is it should come with a 1tb hard drive. The 500gb fills way to fast. I would only purchase the extreme version and highly recommend purchasing a larger hard drive.

This is great and smooth especially for anime games, i even installed other emulators game and it would spetacular. Battery is pretty bad, but i always play it plugged in so i dont mind it!

The first one that I purchased was an open box excellent, I returned it the next day as it wouldn't power on unless plugged in and even that was spotty at times. That made me lose faith in the open box so I just purchased a new one and it has been awesome! I can play any game I want at a reasonable frame rate (60fps) as long as you tweak the settings and the visuals are great. My brother who doesn't even game has played this for about 10 hours over the past week that we were together and is now going to buy his own. From what I've heard most open box experiences have been fine so mine may have been an isolated incident, I'd say it's worth a gamble with the best buy return policy and if you get a dud then just go for a new one.

My ally is alright. Battery could be better, but overall performance is really good.

Very convenient for gaming, has good graphics. Doubles as being able to use for PC related things (word, excel, school). More portable than a traditional laptop.

Amazing. Only downside is the battery life, but its great for playing games around the house snd not being tied down to a desk or TV. Would recommend 100 out of 100 times.

I love this thing. It's taken some time to get it the way I wanted, but people need to look at this device as a windows computer first and handheld second. The same way you setup your gaming laptop is the way you will need to setup this device. Your going to need to setup windows, download and update all drivers, and your going to need to learn how to optimize windows for gaming. I really love this device I have been using it heavily every day since launch and it has worked flawlessly, no crashes, or weird issues. I have a steamdeck and this has replaced it. I recommend this device.

What a great piece of tech! I've never been much of a PC gamer, but this has swayed me. I've been playing games on it I've intended to play for years across Steam, Game Pass, and the Epic Game Store. And I even discovered I could use it for ultra-portable full-PC work in a pinch. (For me, the question is always, "Can it write?" And the Ally certainly can.) I know some people don't like the fact it has full Windows, but this is a big plus in my case. I wasn't certain I would actually use the Ally, but thus far I've been using it every day and absolutely love it. I highly recommend it.

This was an open box purchase and it was like brand new.... absolutely love it... works great with steam

I have had this product for a few week's now and i use itnalmost daily. I did a lotnof research on handhelds before finally buying this one. This product is definitely the best. My only complaint is battery life. You can only use the cord it comes with to charge. My other cords that fit will not charge this device. Im not sure if the adapter makes it so all chargers work but overall im satisfied with this device just wish the battery was better.

Device is amazing worked as expected. The SD reader died but that is now a know flaw from the manufacturer. Sent it in to Asus and it was repaired.

So far is being good machine, except on turbo mode to be too hot, I really enjoy playing games on it. The sweet spot is to customize to 18 watts on playing games.

Good performance, great screen. Runs silent. However, since the screen is 1080p I seem to get similar performance to the SteamDeck @ 800p.

Im a very dedicated gamer, i dont compete but its what i love to do. My primary gaming PC is very nice, 20 core CPU (hyperthreaded), 3080, liquid cooled, flashy lights everywhere. This isnt quite as nice as that. But for the price you pay its astonishing how much preformance it puts out. I actually bought this for my daughters christmas gift but of course i opened it and preinstalled all the windows updates and got her games ready. I tested several out and they run very, very well. Can i say in the longrun how good the battery life is, or if the joy sticks drift, no. But if it runs even remotely as id expect it to over time its an excellent baragin for the price.

The screen quality is great. And the button layout is nice as well. Ergonomics could be a bit better
