    Revolutionary Gaming Device

Once you realize what the device actually is and how to properly use it to its advantages, it is awesome and something gamer have dreamed of for decades. Paired with GamePass, you can take entire game titles offline and play them whenever, wherever you want. Hooked up to a monitor and keyboard/mouse and you have a small yet capable desktop. I would recommend trying one out to see how much it can do.

Good handheld gaming PC. Can run all AAA game at max or near max settings when plugged in. Battery is pretty bad through so i ended up getting a 46000 mah portable battery for the extra juice.

I recommend the ally if u like to have the portability like a switch but like the play PC games I find it comes in handy whenever I'm out and about or if I'm busy doing something at like a DMV or something just connect it to my phone's hotspot and then I can play all my favorite games I can play on my computer

Nice Hardware meets a work in progress Software

The hardware is sturdy and well made. There are a few quirks that we need to work through but I think it will get better with time since windows in this form factor is new and is bound to have teething problems. Also, games are not going to work out of the box. A good few hours need to go into setting up the system before it is even ready for gaming. The Armory Core Software also needs to be get used too but once you figure it out it gives some nice controller mapping for even classic PC games like Jazz Jackrabbit i got out of GOG.

I returned my Steam Deck back to Valve and bought this from Best Buy other than it getting stuck in Transit longer than it should of because of FedEx not Beat Buy I do highly recommend this and love it I just wish the battery was better, but that’s mostly probably because of resource hog. and I haven’t updated the storage or SD card just yet plus other accessories yet but I will in time and I would buy it again.

Lots of issues reported from the bestbuy associate I worked with to return. Mine had an SD Card read issue. My Steam deck has no issues, updated the bios on the Ally and all of the updates given by Asus atm. Hopefully they will fix things as the screen is amazing and the controls feel great aswell. The plastic housing does feel a bit cheap for an item of this cost but the majority of the cost definitely went into screen and internals.

The ASUS software for the Ally is a bit buggy, but it gets the job done for the power it has. The iGPU is in the Z1 Extreme is about as powerful as a 1650-Mobile Max-Q. I'm waiting for the ROG Ally 2 to come out in late 2024, with supposedly 33% more compute units in the iGPU of the next APU. It'll be up to 50% more powerful than the current Ally and by then the ASUS software bugs should be mostly cleared out, hopefully.

I bought this and returned it to buy a rog ally x instead. The battery life is pretty bad and the micro sd card fiasco gave me anxiety. At the sale price of $450, I think it's worth it to just get a steam deck instead. Longer battery life, the games just work without tweaking, and you don't have to worry about bad customer service like you do with asus. If you have to have a windows handheld, this one is solid but I would shell out the extra money and get the rog ally x instead. The battery life alone is worth the upgrade.

Works well, but has some issues with using a controller, hasnt worked the past few months for mine, and also has trouble showing up on certain TVs when you use the HDMI adapter. So good for what it is, but can also be fickle and you don't really have a clue why

When i first got the rog ally it was amazing and was speedy, after the 319 motherboard firmware went to chit, downgraded to 317 and now its doing great buy other than that its plays ALLYour games at a decent fps, with that being said its better than steamdeck. Having issues with your rog ally? DO NOT SELL IT! Work is in progress, just like when steamdeck first came out it was a buggy mess but with updates it works just fine.

This thing runs most games youd expect amazingly. I love using it as a GamePass machine. I also use it for GEForce Now which supports streaming at 120fps. The screen is whag completes the package, but the way it feels and holds is comfier than a steamdeck. CON- Windows 11. Yeah. Also SD card issues. Asus repaired mine free of charge but be aware this mah come up. I also had an issue thag causes fhe right speaker to be extfa soft. Asus also fixed that. So iverall great package but beware.

Great handheld system. The ROG Ally is just an amazing piece of work. I am able to play pretty much all my games comfortably without any issues. Plug and play and I am good to go. Did I mention that this is a full blown PC!?! The ROG ally is a laptop that you can play games, listen to music, watch Netflix, live events, browse the web and do work if need. I believe the Ally is best used for travel away from home or if you're home without access to the console or gaming PC. Do not hesitate to buy especially to be used as a luxury secondary gaming device instead of the a primary. In my case I have a PC with an RTX 4090 and when I am out I can play anything.
