Battery life is not good. If you want a portable gaming machine to play without being plugged in then buy the Ally x instead. Pretty good performance though.

Great and handheld. The z1 extreme processor is worth the price. Battery life is mediocre, but has a great asus warranty as well

The initial startup is kind of a mess. Keyboard didnt work when connection to wifi so i had to use a dongle and hook up an actual keyboard. 2+ hours of updating just to get everything up to date. I really love the design of this handheld, but software needs way more work. Performance is fine, though i wish it was better. Its a neat device but if you alreadyhave a steam deck just keep that. I personally dont think this is worth the upgrade. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who doesnt like tinkering!

You must change your in-game settings to fullscreen and 720p. Then, make sure you push the little physical button on the right to bring up the overlay menu and make sure RSR is enabled. Your game will run at the at 720p upscaled to 1080p and you will get significantly better FPS since the gpu is only actually rendering 720p. This is how you get better FPS. Using this method, I was playing Tom Clancy's The Division 2 on "High" settings and getting 60+ FPS consistently. I did notice a few dips on the FPS when I was in-game in an outdoor environment and it was raining for example but it was barely noticeable since the screen has VRR.

I have the Asus ROG ally and the steam deck. I love both because there's room for both of them if your are a gamer in my opinion. The things that separates the ROG Ally are the 120hz resolution and windows capabilities of playing all PC games. I didn't give 5 stars due having issues with my 1tb micro SD card after a few days, the issue unfortunately does exist. I did install a 2tb SSD card to over come the previous complaint. Overall The Asus ROG Ally is a great quality portable gaming PC.

I have been using it on steam and xbox with no issues with gameplay and feels good but put in mind that its a handheld so it wont run on the highest settings and playing AAA games will make the battery die faster but wont take long to recharge it. My only issue is when i got it, it was dead and while on charger and starting it up the keyboard wouldnt work till i restarted it again and it overheated while on charger the first time but was good after so idk if it was just me or device issue. only had it for 2 days with no other issue and have been using it nonstop but im not someone who has other devices like steamdeck to compare it too.

I am aware of a few issues that others are having with this device in the forums, but I have had a blast using this powerful little computer since launch. Not many performance issues at all, graphics are beautiful, and the ergonomics are the best of any handheld gaming device I've used. Also, the design is absolutely the best of any device on the market right now. Great buy, would highly recommend for anyone who wants to play Game Pass or Steam games on the go or in bed!

I owned a Steam Deck before the Ally, and I can honestly say I haven’t used my Steam Deck since then. I liked the console feel of the Steam Deck but Linux does have its limitations. The Ally on the other hand can handle most if not all the games in my Steam and Epic Games Library with ease, especially if you configure everything down to the recommended specs. Windows can be a little convoluted but once you update and adjust everything to your liking I feel that it’s a pretty solid handheld PC. Give it a week and you won’t regret your decision :)

I really like the ASUS ROG Ally — it’s powerful, smooth, and runs most games surprisingly well for a handheld. The screen looks amazing, the controls feel great, and the performance is solid even on higher settings. However, the battery life is definitely the weak point. It drains pretty fast, especially in performance mode or when playing AAA titles. Still, if you’re okay keeping a charger nearby, it’s an awesome little gaming machine.

Amazing handheld! Runs cod at 100 fps, fort 150+ fps, hogwarts legacy around 90 fps. This handheld can run pretty much any triple A game title on low settings.

Good but battery life is bad screen and controls are high quality

Works really well. Havent had any issues yet. Only complaint is battery life. I can get about an hour when playing diablo 4.

Good Item but Best Buy certified open box was poorly handled, it was defective still out of the box and as it eas a gift we did not find ourselves in an easy position to fix it ourselves Otherwise great Product

Great device that is really good for on the go. However the issue with that is the battery life is terrible!

Love this thing. I got it on sale and open box. Did a memory upgrade from amazon. It has handled anything ive played ark, nightingale and some fps.

Good handheld unit. Plays my games and is also a great handheld PC to watch YouTube and videos. I would recommend if you are looking for a handheld product that is similar. One downside is this market is moving so fast that this seems to be last years model with new models coming out. It still does what I want it to do.

Works well, and runs great. Good for gaming on the go. Battery life is around 1 hour so a power bank is a must

I've had this little guy for a few months now, and it is holding up fantastically. The battery life isn't the best, but I usually have it plugged in so it's not an issue. Overall I would recommend this to others looking for a handheld pc.

Excellent, fun and versatile. My only improvement would be battery life. It does charge quickly and performance exceeds my expectations

This is a great portable pc gaming machine. Plays all my compatible Xbox and pc games. The only issue is the battery life is a bit short.
