Been trying out several Windows handhelds looking for the perfect fit. Full-sized sticks, frontfiring speakers, a gorgeous 7-inch screen, a slim and reasonably lightweight design, this thing ticks a lot of boxes even before we get to the subject of power. Man the Z1 chip can really crunch through any game you throw at it, especially at that 30W turbo mode. Love this handheld, it's my favorite one in the current market.

Don’t let people tell you otherwise, the ROG Ally is awesome! I’ve had mine since launch and have zero issues or complaints. Everything works as advertised, highest quality, high FPS, AAA gaming in your hands. This is not a Nintendo Switch but as long as you know your way around a windows PC you will be right at home. This is exactly what I dreamed about when I was a kid, a one and done everything gaming console in your hands. No compromises, a home run in my opinion

I really enjoy the rog, its able to play all my games and it's a pretty nice handheld computer.

Very nice handheld gaming at an affordable price. Running nicely after some OS, fan, and power tweaks using g-helper and handheld companion. I compared it with a few other handhelds like the win gpd 4, steamdeck but settle on the rog ally due to the double fans, modding potential, 120hz screen. Ssd Was easily upgradeable with same 2230 nvme but later on fitting a 2280 4tb p3 plus removing a few plastic tabs with nail clipper/nose pliers.

When this thing is plugged allowing to use the 30w mode is a beast! A lot of performance for a handheld, the 15w mode is enough to run some old games with great performance, but the battery still an issue. I got a good power bank and is very helpful when an outlet is not available. The future of handhelds looks very bright.

Ok first things, first. There are going to be patches and fixes that are going to be implemented on this very new device. If you are patient though, you will be owning one of the most powerful and and superior handhelds on earth right now. That being said, battery life is not terribly fantastic. But, it's nothing that a Power Bank can't remedy. I love this tiny laptop. It features Windows 11. And, you can surely use it for work as well as playing games.

I like the ROG Ally. It's comparable to the Steam Deck in many ways, and it actually can outferform the Steam Deck. Thought not nearly at the levels that Asus originally touted. (50% better??? Not even close) I can run games on the Ally that the Steam Deck struggles with. But unfortunately, I have to be choosy as to what games I download. The 512GB of internal memory is only good for a handful of games, and the Major Flaw is with the placement of the SD card reader. I cannot trust this device with SD cards as the Ally will cook the SD cards due to the heat produced by the device. My Samsung SD card was rendered inoperable because of the extreme heat inside the Ally. Even if I cranck up the fans I do not want to risk any more SD cards especially the more expensive 1TB cards. Asus has not really offered a solution to this issue and I would like to know if Best Buy or Asus will replace the SD card the ROG Ally broke. Its too bad because the device itself is good. But the expandable card reader is flawed.

Honest review The setup is pretty long and can sometimes be annoying I recommend the first thing you do is the updates, not just windows update but the Asus armory crate updates as well If you are able to hook up a keyboard and mouse it would make the setup a lot easier Performance is great Can run almost any game at 720p Storage is not the best because modern games are usually 100gb a pop but you can upgrade the storage pretty easily and add an SD card

I love my Rog! Im a cozy gamer but love pc games. This handheld is perfect. I have the power of a huge desktop in the palm of my hand so I can game in my comfy places. You also have a ton of games with game pass and 3mons free to try it out. Best purchase!

As someone who travels frequently, I found the common gripes with this device a non-issue (battery life, mostly). The performance is excellent when plugged in, I only need to carry with me the original charger and a power bank (which I already have since I travel frequently). I use this in addition to my main rig, so as a secondary travel device I highly recommend it. If you want this as your main PC/gaming device, I would suggest a laptop instead

Amazing product. Great for on the go and at home. with the power of AMD's RSR and AFMF2 you can get tons of performance out of this unit. The battery dies fast like this. But if you plug it in, it's amazing.

I did not know how life changing this item is, since I have problems in my back and im not able to be sit for more than 2 hours, this is really good cause I can be playing on my bed and it runs every single game I like

The ROG Ally Extreme version plays Destiny 2, so that's something. Apart from a shorter battery life, everything else is easy after all the updates and softwares. I did through research between steam deck, ally, Lenovo, and few others, but this one was definitely the best choice.

Bought it to use on a deployment gave me the ability to stream movies on a projector football games for the guys, hours of gaming It's extremely capable for a device of its size when used in a docked format with external screens. Short battery life when playing graphic intensive games. Stock storage is 512gb I changed out the SSD for a 2th SSD

I’ve used the Steam Deck and Switch — nothing comes close to the power packed into the ROG Ally. This thing runs AAA titles like Elden Ring and Cyberpunk like a dream. The 120Hz screen is super smooth, the Z1 Extreme chip keeps everything fast, and I love that I can dock it and use it like a full-blown PC. If you’re serious about portable gaming, this is the move. IT GOES EVERYWHERE

This is basically a Portable Gaming pc! Now I can play all of my favorites anywhere on the go! The specs on this makes all of my games run very smooth like Destiny 2 and COD MW III. Since this is like a gaming pc it could be a little complicated for younger kids to use. The only “downside” is the battery life but even then it can easily solved with a power bank.

LOVE my ROG so much! Runs very smooth and has great graphics. Only downfall is the battery life isn’t the greatest. I usually play docked so doesn’t affect me much. Battery life is the reason for four stars

This is an awesome handheld PC packed with adequate power to play lots of pc games. I am surprised to find out that I can even play Microsoft Flight simulator on this tiny pc. I did spend extra to upgraded the ssd to 2TB and bought a dock for it which allows me to play my games on my 4k TV. Great performance for the form factor.

Love the Ally, amazing performance, screen looks great only issue for me is battery life.
