The ROG is pretty amazing for getting that on the go gaming fix. Initial set-up is simple but annoying since it IS basically a windows PC. But after that is done correctly it works like a charm! And i say 'correctly' because when my initial set-up finished, something didnt install as it should have, and armoury crate was not working at all so i had to do a whole reset and set-up again. After that it works perfectly!

I absolutely love this handheld! I can take any of my games on the road, and they run without any issues.

The device excels in playing AAA titles and a wide range of other games. However, the battery life is limited, and the Windows operating system on a handheld gaming console can be cumbersome for non-Windows users.

Absolutely amazing perfect fit for on the go and mid tier gaming at home or ultra 1080p hd 120hz gaming honestly I’ve tried a lot and find this to be the perfect balance of everything you could ask for and everyone gripping about the fans so it gets a little loud no louder then a desktop and the Audio drowns it out any way turbo mode is fantastic does the trick super well to put out 4k on a external monitor using the rog dock Absolutley amazing

1080p 120hz with VRR! Turbo mode offers the best performance at 30 watts which you need to be plugged in. Better than the Steamdeck in that you know your way around configuring PC and windows. This isnt a console for impatient, "I want it to work out of the box without knowing what im doing" types. Lights are an awesome aesthetic. Controls are nice amd comfortable.

I'm very happy with my experience with this. I did have the issue with the SD card reader failing, but Asus was very easy to work with to have that repaired at no cost to me (I repurposed amazon packing materials to ship it in). One gripe is the battery life is not the best. Maybe 2 hours of play even at 15w setting, but a great experience nonetheless.

This is one of the best handles I have owned since the PSP was around. I would def recommend this if you are something other than a steam deck but note this is a windows device so some tinkering might be needed due to windows being windows. A battery pack is a must if you are playing third AAA games.

Other then sub par battery life im very impressed. I’ve hardly touched my Xbox since purchasing it. Asus did a good job on the software. Makes the windows 11 OS tolerable. I’d wait for the Ally X to come out unless this is way discounted.

During the past 10 days, I had the chance to test this device, which turned out to be excellent for portable gaming. However, considering the ongoing problems with its SD slot and the unsatisfactory battery life, I would recommend waiting for the next revision before making a purchase.

I got this after having the Steam Deck for eight months. I loved the deck but the problems playing certain games and lack of egpu ability is what made me purchase this and try it. I love it. Its pretty amazing. The battery life is atrocious I will say. Keep that in mind. But overall with how I use this my personal experience is a pleasant one that exceeds the deck.

Amazing Device, also it runs great with even the toughest games. I would give it 5 stars but the WiFi continues to disconnect and it took me hours to find out a solution.

This device is everything I’ve wanted for a while now I have full access to my Xbox gamepass library including PC exclusives All my games have had no trouble hitting the high fps numbers but I tend to be satisfied with a smooth 60fps for everything in order to save battery life. I’ve managed to get almost 2 hours of battery running it at that between multiple games

I love this but the only issue I’ve run into was the sd card reader going bad but I didn’t really need the extra space so that’s not a deal breaker for me anyways. Windows on handheld didn’t take long to get used to either.

The ROG Ally is the best handheld on the market. While Windows isn’t quite as smooth as SteamOS, this device FEELS amazing to play on and it allows me to play all of my Game Pass titles, Steam titles, and so much more. Definitely my best purchase this year.

Tiny and good performance. Very good sound. SD card not work is well-known. However, I did not know it is not reliable. I used it as my major PC at home with everything connected (monitor, keyboard, xBox controller) I am not a heavy gamer. Most of time I use for Youtube. After 7-month use, one day it was on than went to bios forever, I have no choice but reinstall Windows After 7.5-month use, it suddenly made a bad sound, shut down and restarted in front of me. It was not because of any windows updates. It is an excellent-open-box item. OK, 15-months from manufacturing day maximum. Still short...... Good for everyday use, but I am not happy on its issues.

I bought this handheld for my birthday and I think its decent, but after a software update from ASUS there has been a pretty annoying software bug. Whenever you use the Legacy Command Menu that was replaced by a new menu, and you open the menu to switch power options, it bugs the controls and switches between Desktop controls and Gamepad controls and it gets annoying when i'm unable to control my game. Second bug i have notice is when I play a game, at certain random intervals it would boot me to the home screen of Windows. This is only recommended at cheap prices or when on sale.
