Absolutely love this, after moving back to the states I was without a computer and really missed gaming. This unit allows me to do basic every day tasks and play all my games!

Been waiting for this device for sometime after using the SteamDeck for roughly a year and a bit disappointed. Design: 4/5; its a beautiful device and love the button placement on the front, however, the buttons on the back are a bit awkward and can be accidentally hit. Ergonomics: 2/5; This is where the disappointment begins, I saw that ROG went through multiple different molds to find the best one and the grips on this device do not stick out enough to make it comfortable. Don't get me wrong, its light in the hands but holding for long periods of time just does not feel comfortable Software: a few issues that degraded performance after bios updates but it will be fixed overtime so I'm not going to rate this portion BUT there are some issues. Overall, its a step in the right direction but not the flawless execution that many waited around for and was expecting. This would be a 5/5 if the grips were done correct.

I absolutely love this thing. It completely replaced my desk top, wish handheld could reasonablt have more power but for what it is works great. Played all of cyberpunk and it's dlc on it both as a handheld and docked to a TV.

I purchased the rog ally on july 2nd 2025. 2 weeks later 2 days after my return period ended they lowered its price by 150 dollars. I called the store and they refused to do anything to make it right for me. Also my ROG has killed 2 SD cards alrdy with its SD car slot issue. Great machine besides the SD issue and I would recommend never shopping at Best Buy as they refuse to budge on 2 days beyond the return period to match there huge price reduction. I will be solely doing amazon going forward even tho i have a BBY CC. I will not be shopping at this horrible store with zero customer service

Very interesting device, but ended up returning. Had issues with SD card working properly. Battery also wasn't great. If I'm going to have to keep it plugged in, I might as well use my gaming desktop. I believe after a few updates, this could be a great device.

I bought this so i can have an alternative to the stram deck if i want to play some windows based videogames. And its been surprisingly a very good experience so far! I had a few hiccups when i was doing the out of box setup with windows and the fingerprint scanner being weird but other than that its a very strong handheld pc!

Works great no problems run quick for a small system love taking it out of town definitely recommend to others

So far so good, just dont put in a micro SD card in that bad boy/girl just yet due to it frying it. Love how easy it is to upgrade the storage and overall i really like it enough to gifted my steam deck out ( wife made me ) since my wife got me this for my birthday extra accessories included with the birthday package ^_^d *yay*

As long as you follow the instructions from ASUS about updating drivers, this thing runs like dream. It's literally like having a portable Xbox/PlayStation. I've run the absolute gambit against it, from Magic Arena, to Halo Infinite, and Starfield this thing eats it up. The 3D sound is crisp, loud and truly a MUST have experience that makes the games feel that much more immersive.

This device is actually better than my MSI Claw. This device does not heat up. I use my sd card and had no problem with it. I had this device for at least a month now. The whole device does not over heat. Only the charger adapter heats up when the device is 50 percent. It is super fast charging for me. Battery life is good for at least 2 hours. Msi claw i own battery life sucks is probably from amazon i got it from the seller. I would recommend rog ally z1 extreme to people that has low budget. My advice is wait till they have a sale for 400 dollars it is worth buying

One of the best handheld gaming PCs available. Top 3. Although it’s not plug and play like the switch it does have some advantages over it. You get a full windows handheld PC in which you can install emulators and play basically any game you want. Just takes a little tinkering.

I’ve been loving my Ally since I got it. The screen is absolutely beautiful and it’s powerful.

Device is great. I had the SD card error which sucks. Doesn’t work any more. SD card slot lasted about 8 months.

Truly the best gaming experience. I play ck3 and stellaris on the couch while my girlfriend watches her shows and the dogs lay around loving it. Works great with headphones and the clarity and response is perfect. 10/10

I've never been much of a PC gamer as I've been intimated by building my own rig. I've wanted to buy a Steam Deck but most of the games I want to play are Windows only and this handheld PC fits my need. Very powerful for a portable and quite intuitive as far as accessing games library because of Asus Armory Crate. I'm sure the experience will only get better at more updates and optimizations are created for this platform.

Right now one of the best windows handheld. It was quiet before the update but still the quietest windows handheld by far. Not the best ergonomics but not the worst. The textured plastic helps your grip, but it feels cheap. You can't compare this to a steam deck when you think about this 1080p screen and the power to match.

It’s pretty good it has its bugs but nothing too big to handle but the battery sucks

Very impressed on how good this runs AAA titles. If you want max frames getting the XG Mobile egpu is the way to go. But, if you dont mind 50-90 fps on some games its perfect. Im definitely happy with the purchase, very impressed. Only reason its bot 5 star for ne is cause of the frames.

Did my SD card reader fail? Yes. Do I care? Not really! I was able to swap in a 2240 SSD into this thing (with instructions from Asus!) and have been PC gaming for the first time in years. I have played all sorts of games on this thing, from AAA titles, to emulators, to indie hits on steam I can't get on my consoles. And, PC Gamepass on this thing is a game changer. I love it.
