Amazing device and saved another $100 or so by getting an open box version. The console was in excellent condition, just as advertised. Easy purchase and pick up options. Highly recommend for anyone looking to play AAA PC games on the couch or in bed without hogging the tv.

Screen is perfect size easy to hold onto the ergonomics are perfect on this device. AAA gaming is no issue and battery life is alright. Pair this with the asus adapter and you can hdmi out with ease.

I bought this device about 6 months ago. I use it on my off days from work and I enjoyed it when i played. I am never rough on my devices, i buy cases, screen protectors, bumper protectors, etc. But this device is waaay to expensive for all the problems ive had. On day 1, something was already loose in the top left trigger and an audible rattle was present. Got that fixed. Then i decided to buy an SD card for the device and it worked great until the SD card reader stopped working and would no longer work. Figured it may have been a bios issue or a software issue. I updated the bios and got my ally working again, including the SD card reader. I then installed all my games and got my device ready for a trip. I played with the ally and all my games for several days leading up to my trip with zero issues. Then the day of my trip, my ally wouldnt turn on. I tried charging it, using the included charger and many different chargers and nothing happened. No power at all. I was reading on the asus forums and apparently, these issues are very common. They posted various tips and tricks to help get my ally back to life, including: holding the power button and all various button combos for 30 secs, nothing. I opened the back and disconnected the battery to let everything just, reset.. nothing. The device was completely dead for no reason at all. Its very infuriating that a device this expensive would have so many issues. Issues that shouldnt even be a problem, like the SD card reader not working?? How long have we had SD cards?? Lemme tell you, long enough to where issues like this should not happen. Then for the device to just be dead for no reason at all after me using it just hours before? C'mon. Its completely unacceptable. Luckily i got the 3 year warranty on the device. But im out 300$ for the warranty now. Waste of time and money. Ill be upgrading to either the oled steam deck or the lenovo go.

Love it. Compared to having the Steam deck this blows it out of the water. Screen, power, and aesthetics. Be mindful that since it's a new product, there are some issues you will face. Like currently the mSD card reader issue frying mSD cards, but if you're not going to use an mSD card or don't care. Buy this handheld.

Unlike any other handheld consoles the whopping 120Hz refresh rate makes this product a no brainer when it comes to buy it. The only downside is battery life, but if you know your way around it it’s no problem because with 15w of power instead of 25 and a external powerbank you can get 3-4 of constant gameplay.

After reading reviews and first-hand accounts of the ROG Ally having issues with the SD Card reader, and purchasing/returning two open-box handhelds that has that I decided to buy it again once it went on sale. Been playing on it for a couple of hours a week and compared to before, the updates have helped with the overheating and keeping the SD card reader from burning out. I like the ergonomics of it and smaller size than the Steam Deck. I'll update this if anything pops up in long-term usage.

The ROG Ally is a great portable gaming PC, being able to play games like Cyberpunk 2077, Jedi Survival, Starfield, Forza Horizon 5, Hogwarts Legacy among many other AAA games on the go natively is just amazing, also its just perfect for emulation, you won't regret it.

Coming from console gaming, this required a little setup and getting used to Windows, but it exceeded my expectations on user experience and performance. Steam, xbox gamepass all work great.

Any worries you have about buying this device go out the window immediately, it’s simple to use and so many YouTube videos to help guide you and if you’re ever having any gameplay issues you do a few tweaks and problem solved

Pros: portability, adaptability, power, windows 11. Cons: battery, only 1 usb c, upgrades, wondows 11. If you dont understand why i put window 11 for both then you might not want to get the device.

I received my Ally and took my time to set it up. It is a powerul device and i connected the 6850 XG Mobile - WOW - this is a powerful machine and exceeds the PS5 and XBOX Series X. There are a lot of updates to complete so patience is important. Once it is fully updated the experience is great. This replaced all my consoles

It's cool just wish it had better battery life and more power

As a truck driver I absolutely love this thing. I’m constantly on the go and on the move and rarely am home. With this I no longer have to struggle with bringing my counsel back and fourth to my truck. This I just toss it in my bag and can play the games that I play with ease!

My unit had no problems except for the static noise issue. Software experience was rough at lunch but has been slowly improving. Takes quite a while to set up and get used to it , but its worth it for someone who wants to play PC games on the go.

It’s a cool concept but the battery drains within an hour, the download speeds are terrible, it doesn’t work with every game. The games I can play with it are nice but don’t buy it for multiplayer games like I thought I could. Single player games are key.

Absolutely love it. I have not found a game that it can not run yet. Runs Genshin Impact wonderfully and Payday is a joy to play as well as Binding of Isaac and many others. Well worth my money. Not to mention the looks of it. When I am out and about, the number one thing people say is "What is that, it looks sick"

Excellent if you have computer knowledge. I bought an open box for 150 off and it was like new, this thing is amazing. Took some messing around setup was probably an hour after updates and everything. Highly recommend this open box deal to anyone that wants one but doesn’t wanna spend 700

I like this but it’s not something anyone needs. Works well in its use case and I’m happy with it. Looking forward to the x and all future improvements.
