She can play all types of games on it without having to switch consoles back and forth. Screen quality is top notch! Surprised by just how good the speakers are. May be better than her gaming laptop.

The screen is vibrate and the controls while playing games are thr selling point when co workers realize "thats not a Nintendo switch is it?"

SD Card slot is unreliable

We do understand your disappointment with the ROG Ally and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing overheating and issue with the SD card reader slot. To resolve the card reader issue, check if the memory card is working properly and the most current card reader and chipset drivers posted at: https://rog.asus.com/us/gaming-handhelds/rog-ally/rog-ally-2023/helpdesk_download/ . If you are experiencing overheating while gaming is normal. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. You can reduce this overheating by tweaking your hardware and performance mode setting using the most current version of the Armoury Crate utility. Furthermore, update Windows, drivers and the BIOS if outdated. Additionally, if you are playing these games online, ensure this handheld device has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. I have been able to run almost every game I have on my PC around medium settings, setup was updates after updates. It after everything I have no issues. (You do need to know your way around windows and all it’s bugs)

Aside from the battery getting drained easily but it is really not an issue for me since i can just plug it or use a power bank. When it comes to storage, upgrading the SSD is very easy (im not a techy person). It is worth every penny.

Its even prettier in person! ;-) This is the absolutely perfect device when away from your console or PC. For me and probably many male players the size is so key! Not only for big clear picture that is less strain on my eyes as opposed to my phone.

Windows 11 is extremely frustrating to use on the ROG ally, or any handheld pc for that matter. but everything else is great.

Awsome handheld computer that can also dock and become a desktop computer with an Amazon dock and some peripherals. Edit: Bought my wife one too! Now we can game together.

Compared to the Steam Deck I was using this is hands down the better buy. Not only is it more familiar running on windows it runs so much smoother than the deck could hope to.

Otherwise, it's a decent unit. It's a little overpriced, but it's still alright. Asus locking people into their XG mobile gpu's is a real killer, though. Stop being stingy, ASUS, and let us use any eGPU; this would definitely increase the hype for these units.

Running the full version of windows allows all the OC game stores to run. This feels like a worthy successor to the PS Vita in the power handheld market. The Switch just didnt have the power to software flexibility to cover the gap.

It is comfortable in the hands but i also do love being able to have all launchers in one place with no issues.
