This little handheld was just what I needed. no longer do I need to pack around my laptop and mouse. Only issue is I wish it wasn't full windows 11 and an os made for a handheld as windows uses a lot of resources to run.

Rog Ally is a portable computer for playing games. The bad part is that you need to open the console to change the memory card. If you want to upgrade. This is very archaic!

Honestly was a little hesitant on getting it but its better as i thought. Runs better then my ps4 most of the time, works better with my lg monitor i have that 144hz 1ms just waiting to get a hdmi hub to he able to do duel monitor setup

Works great havent came across any problems. I just cant get used to the joystick. Im a pc controller gamer and for some reason the joysticks on any handheld gamining device doesnt work good with me or I just cant get used to it. It was even easy to upgrade the storage on it.

Beautiful clear display, and responsive controls. Works wonderfully with a variety of storefronts, I've used Steam, Epic, and GOG so far. My only complaint is short battery life, about 60-90 minutes per charge, depending on setting.

This thing is amazing, I even stopped playing on my main PC that has a 4090, honestly I think a power bank would be a good idea a to have too, but OMG this is so powerful

Great steam deck depending on if you want to be able to play steam games and games that require window with out having to use a micro sd card or install a dual boot system on the deck

Love using it on the road to play games with my hotspot. Having a 65w power bank help it a lot on the go.

Plays most games my pc plays. Some may require tweaking the settings for smooth gameplay. Would definitely recommend buying the extreme over the regular. Will be upgrading the ssd soon because the sd card is known to be problematic.

I’d probably give this a 4.5. I’ve purposely avoided using an SD card, which is a problem many are having and ASUS has acknowledged. Plays most xbox games pass games, but wouldn’t load Forza5. I hear the steam version works though. Plays Diablo 4 and StreetFighter 6 well.

I am very satisfied with the performance in modern titles. No issues as of yet.

This isn’t its not perfect but as someone who is very familiar with pc and windows the setup process was annoying but not impossible. After that I really enjoyed using this device. If you’re new to the platform it’ll be an uphill battle but once you get there it’s so worth it.

Aside from battery life this hand held is a beast! I recommend buying a long usb-c cable so you can play plugged in. Great system but battery is too small for such a power hungry unit.

While my ROG Ally is generally ok, if undersized for elder eyes, the SD card slot is compromised by its placement adjacent to the heatsink (engineers didn’t pay attention in Electrical Engineering 101). Under heavy using (gaming, the primary purpose of this product), the data on the SD card will become corrupt due to heat, possibly beyond repair. While their does appear to be a soft recall, apparently, ASUS support and warranty repair is a consumer hostile experience in which ASUS will actively attempt to defraud or misdirect the consumer rather than resolve their actual issue. Please see GamersNexus and Louis Rossman on YouTube regarding their experience. As such, I won't bother using ASUS repair services, will accept the product as is, and will never purchase ASUS product again. When the joystick fails, i will replace that myself with Hall effect joysticks. Regarding the SD slot, to augment capacity, I simply replaced the NVMe SSD with a larger capacity model. I'd recommend the Steam Deck for a straightforward, console-like experience. For a more involved, enthusiast experience, i might suggest the Lenovo Legion Go or its successor (the controllers/grips need a redesign). I got lucky with my ASUS motherboard but won’t buy ASUS products again.

Great device, sold my Steam deck for this; only downside is the battery but that's to be expected from a device running full windows 11, I recommend using nosybloaty to remove bloatware in windows 11 to reduce idle unused applications to take memory and sometimes cpu usage.

Takes a bit to get up and running but it is very very powerful for the price. Don't want to be far from an outlet but if you think of it more as something for use around the house than on the go it fits very well

My husband loves it, working away from home he doesnt have time to hook up his xbox and everything im his hotels so this allows us to play togethet no matter what. Only thing we dont like is how hot the charger gets even though its normal for it
