Trying out the non extreme version and even the steam deck. I’m so happy I went this route. Every game I’ve played so far performs amazing. Can’t recommend enough.

It can run windows 11 which is ok in a sense personally buy a laptop if you are looking to use this as a computer. ROG ALLY has a deep price of around 600$ now in store which is better than paying 800$ on Amazon so recommend buying from Best Buy especially if you are a member. The steam deck is awesome as well for running games but in my experience the ROG ALLY just seems more smooth and versatile. 1 more thing if you get the ROG ALLY make sure to purchase the Z1 xtreme version more storage as well as better software don’t be fooled by the normal and z1 xtreme the Z1 is better.

Sure, it has some issues here and there out of the box, but nothing that cannot be solved with a simple Windows update and other software updates. Plays all my games smoothly. Would definitely recommend!

Has Windows on it so you can do a lot more with it. Is still limited to what it can do graphics-wise but is well worth every penny for a handheld that can play most games.

Totally worth the money.

Great concept - couldn't activate Windows 11

That said, if you're aware of the limitations and issues, this has the potential to be a great handheld gaming device. Maybe not at the MSRP now that a newer generation of the device has been released. I was well aware of the SD card issues (something that isn't a problem for my use), and I was looking forward to enjoying the device. That said, when I went to factory reset Windows 11, I found myself unable to activate Windows. Turns out, after much troubleshooting, the OEM embedded license was for Windows 8, which will no longer activate a "new" install of Windows 11. My options were to either purchase a retail license of Windows 11, run a gimped OS on a brand new device, or go Linux. I chose to return the ROG Ally and go with a different product which has been nearly flawless.

If you want to play PC games with controller support on the go, you will not be disappointed. There are some oddities with navigating windows and such, but apart from that it is amazing.

The speed is pretty good and graphics card is also good as well, but it does takes some time getting used to Armoury Crate.

Definitely bridges the gap between console and pc, more so than a laptop and all the functionality of one at that. Look for an open box if you’re looking to save!
