I needed a new computer for work in school but also wanted a new console to play with for downtime. I was a little skeptical and getting a hand held console but after looking at all the reviews for this, I caved and it was probably one of the best purchases I've ever made. It's nice to have it available from my office space to game on a monitor and to be able to sit and game in the living room with while my wife watches her reality TV shows.

Performed great, I was able to run Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty for about 30 minutes before it would drain the battery. Overall I liked the product but I kept looking for more accessories for the Ally that made me question my purchase versus buying a pc or console.

Solid performance especially when playing diablo 4. Although the battery life is a bit short overall this is a great gaming handheld.

Incredibly, this plays older (but still modern) games like Fallout 4 pretty well. I’d say the performance is comparable to an Xbox One or Playstation 4. It’s arguably more user friendly for casual gamers than Steam Deck, and I have zero issues modding games since it runs Windows. I went in expecting to have play games on super low settings and I’ve been pleasantly surprised!

Love the rog! It was easy set up for me. Im only using the Rog for gaming. I love the gaming hub. All my gaming apps and games in a single area is handy! Wish the battery lasted longer but im usually on my couch so i can have it plugged in. Definitely recommended!

So far, it's working great. Initially, I received a faulty item where the screen was not showing anything. Then, after the complaint, BestBuy replaced the product with a good one. It's running smoothly. However, I have to play with lower resolution for some games, such as FIFA23 or FC24. Otherwise, the game lags. But other heavy games, such as Forza Horizon, are playing smoothly. When I connect it to a monitor, the graphics really look awesome. My overall satisfaction is great.

Ergonomic, ergonomic, ergonomic. the 3 things that are important to me the ally was a great fit in my hands on Day 1. Of Course the graphics Great, sound level with cooling "low level", audio best for what all handhelds must do. All in all I am very happy worked well on the first day I used it. Monster Hunter world, Risk of rain, Elden ring, Horizon. Took some advise from the people in the reviews.

I have owned this device for almost 2 years. I got it on launch day! This has been my gaming PC for a year until I got my own laptop. I still use this handheld a a lot. I game in the couch, bed, and plane. I even bought this to Japan so I could still play Valorant (150FPS - Set to Low Quality) during my trip. Controllers are still great, no stick drift or whatsoever. I haven't had problems with the fans either. Windows is more convenient for me after all even in handhelds when it comes to gaming. There is the new Ally X, but I'll stick to this one until the next generation comes. Wish they released this one with the black version too just like the Ally X.

Best windows handheld out there with top notch performance. Get this over the steam deck. Beautiful screen and powerful apu.

This machine is the perfect power house for on the go gaming. I was in the market recently looking for one because of my job and saw that this one was on it's way to release. After doing a little research I decided to pull the trigger and pre order. After of having the device you would be hard pressed not to see it in my hands it handles all the games that I want play with such ease including very recent titles like Street fighter 6 and Diablo 4. I can't express how much I am satisfied with this purchase.

I love the device, I’ve had it since launch day after some tweaks this thing is running just how I want it. It can play everything I throw at it. It does require some knowledge of windows and how to set things up, tweaking settings ect…I sold my steam deck for the rog ally and I have zero regrets. Don’t listen to the negative reviews ! Great device. 10/10 on everything except a few points. -Would be better if there were other colors. -The fact that the gfx card extension is proprietary and not universal is a negative. -The "m" buttons in the back are legitimately terrible. Sure you *can* assign other functions to them but what's the point when pushing them while playing is so hard? -It could have had a 1tb storage option

I was absolutely skeptical about buying this item, even thought about returning it but i gave it a couple days of use and ended up falling in love with it. For q handheld gaming device it runs great graphics and i can play AAA games smoothly with no issues. I play cod competitively and rocket league with minimal differences between the rog and my gaming pc other than the obviously exorcted differences. 10/10 recommend. Love my rog ally.

For how tiny this thing is- it is a powerhouse! I’m not a super tech savvy gamer and I didn’t want to spend $1,000+ on a laptop or desktop gaming computer. For $700 this thing is awesome! Plays my few steam games like a charm. BeamNG Drive and Destiny 2 work flawlessly with very very VERY little lag. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a small handheld that runs the full windows experience.

Very accessible and very responsive. The AMD chip does wonders for this handheld windows seamless and the grip is not too wide to make it uncomfortable and the screen is just the right size for viewing battery life could be better but you’re usually next to a outlet that you can just stay charged and turbo mode for optimum efficiency. Can go wrong with this device, def recommend it for a portable handheld!

this is hands down one of the most impressive pieces of technology to date. with almost as much processing power as a series x or ps5 it’s genuinely hard to not want this device at this price point. it’s genuinely like having a mini computer in your hands, especially considering it’s all windows 11 based. the battery life isn’t too impressive, but that’s to be expected when you have such a small machine pumping out such a large amount of power. if you’re thinking about getting this machine think no longer.

Absolutely amazing Windows handheld for the price. Comparable units would be $1099+ and wouldn't have that VRR/FreeSync screen and Z1 APU. It has some 1st gen issues, but as long as Windows isn't a foreign thing to you, you'll be fine as long as you didn't get a dud. If you want a console simpleton type of device then get a SteamDeck, in fact buy mine, it's been collecting dust despite my love for it.

I bought open box excellent got exactly that only thing that sucks didn’t get the rog stand for it.The handheld PC is amazing use it at work while on break or waiting for Uber after work and it’s a champ plays all my emulators ps3 ect runs great,new games runs great,honestly awesome invention so glad I was able to get one,also got a friend to get one he also loves it replace his laptop with it.

One of the best purchases I ever made. I still play with my Rog Ally. I didn't upgrade to the Rog Ally X because it's not worth it. I'll wait until something else better releases.

compared to the Steam Deck the software could be so much better, but whether thats the price you pay for buying a Windows handheld or it being made by ASUS with their notoriously jank Armoury Crate software has yet to be seen. Despite the software jank though the performance, flexibility and the screen on this machine still makes it worth it in my eyes and it can handle emulation like a pro.
