Awesome handheld pc love the portability insane graphics for a handheld I would have gave it 5 stars if it weren’t for the insanely fast dying battery on max settings you get about 1 hour 30 minutes.

I been reading reviews with many getting flustered over setup, however this is legit the easiest setup you can ask for. The drivers, software, and information is all laid out for you and they even preinstalled Steam! You can download EPIC, Ubisoft, and EA if you so desire and start downloading and playing your games. For those looking to play retro games then check out Launchbox. The ergonomics and weight completly destroy the chunky boy that is the Steam Deck. The screen is unbelievable, I seriously cant understand how Valve got away with putting such a low quality display in the Steam Deck. Buttons are legit perfection and quiet for late night gaming. SSD is super replaceable and I put a 2TB in this!!! I feel like valve fanboys are reviewing this…

a great handheld, some issues getting started, but youtube helped. nice weight in hands, screen is great. Was playing Starfield on it and had no issues running. Even at low 1080p settings the game looked great. No hiccups with emulators.

I have a steam Deck but wanted something tp play game pass games and this works for that. Negatives the SSD is too small and there are heat issues using SD card. Battery life is short, get a power bank if you want to use it without connecting to an outlet

For the price I did think it would be better battery dies super fast and is kind of laggy,it's ok I like being able to play on the go but battery life you half to have a portable charger also needs more storage

Ive had my device for a little over a month and despite reading others people issues I haven't had any problems and am 100% happy with the product. I work in IT and am using this device as my primary Windows machine. I don't really get into the whole customizing fan speeds and what not I just want to play my Call of Duty and keep it moving which has not been an issue. I'm loving the build quality and cannot get over that screen! Spec wise im not using more than 500GB on games as I play 1 or 2 at a time until completion. This little unit is a beast honestly I really don't see a reason to get an XG Mobile which I had planned to. I only wished it came in the color black and maybe just one more USB C port on the actual device.

Got this for my husband bc I was so tired of hearing about it for over a year. Now we can't go anywhere without it. Now he has access to the Play World of Warcraft or any other game he chooses when he wants to. He's happy, i don't have to hear about it anymore, so it's a win/ win!!! Lol it is nice, i did get him a nice sd card for it and hes in heaven with it. He says everything is great, that its easy to play on and do what he needs to do

For it’s form factor, the ROG Ally performs much better than expected. The screen is awesome. Thermals are great. Battery life could use some improvement. Windows 11 is fine, but Asus and Microsoft should trim down the OS as much as possible to enhance the handheld gaming experience. It works well, but we don’t need the Office suite and Teams apps on a device intended for gaming. If the OS was better optimized, it might improve the overall performance and battery life, which would take the ROG Ally to the next level. Storage fills up quick, so unless you plan on gaming online, expect to upgrade your SSD. Another improvement that would greatly improve the device would be to add a sim or eSim option to allow for cellular connectivity. Having cell service would prevent the need for wi-fi and enhance mobility. Overall good device that can only get better with time.

Cool little steamdeck competitor, better in someways (slightly more powerful, and supports more game stores), but worse in someways as well, LCD screen and worse battery life despite larger battery. Overall it depends on what you value, and how much work you’re willing to put in, with a little bit of software installation you can support more stories on the steamdeck removing that advantage, and the battery life is just better, but on most games the ROG Ally gets 5-15fps higher, but either is a good choice. Ergonomics are also worse than the steamdeck imo, but I don’t have small hands.

You Will not regret buying this little beast of pc! Sure the battery life can also be worked with but this thing can play starfield! And halo too! Not to mention black ops 3 with mods and can run game with mods with ease! This thing is powerful n fairly priced literally I have asus TUF and I’m telling ya this thing weighs way less! And it’s good for toilet playtime hahaha! But seriously you can play ANYTHiNg on it like steam deck comes very low capabilities to play anything but won’t regret it! Serious upgrade from deck! Their port can connect hdmi and usb can use to put on projector or tv very handy! With this can connect keyboard n mouse if choose to and even plays VR that’s right PCVR steam not like deck can do that….. don’t sit there and ponder just grab dis baby! I was able to stream on it to that tells ya something!

I love my Ally, I purchase this when it first came out in the first thing I did was add a two terabyte hard drive to it. I could use it as a full-time desktop if I really wanted to but I use it for what it's purpose was. I take this with me on every trip and sometimes to work. It plays every game flawlessly. Definitely considering getting the newest version once it is out.

I was able to find this as an open box excellent condition in my area for about $601, I added on a year of protecrtion through Best Buy (it already comes with 1yr of manufacturer coverage) and was out the door for $746 and some change. So far I have played: Fortnite, The Lake, some COD games, and Need for Speed Heat. I played all of these in the Turbo Mode. I changed the fps to 120 on most games and it seems to habdle it with ease. Everything looks crystal clear and has very nice color! My only complaint would be the batter life. After a full charge I can get maybe 2 hours before it has to be plugged back up, which isnt a deal breaker but some may want to consider other options if they want to use this for travel. As far as heat dissipation it does a good job with this. The back of the device doesn't get hot but can at times feel slightly warm. If you hover your hand over the vents you can feel just how hard the fans are working to keep everything cool. Overall very satisfied with this device. Looking forward to trying out Payday 3 when it releases!

With its high-refresh-rate touchscreen, strong AMD Z1 Extreme processor, and Windows 11 support, it offers a versatile gaming experience on the go. This thing is great, plays a ton of games steam deck cant. Was ablw to play AAA games like Elden Ring at 60fps no problem. Battery life is ok but is lacking when playing graphically intensive games. Because it runs Windows, get a usbc dock and this thing is a perfect pc.

I own AyaNeo2 Steamdeck and ROG Ally. I see mysepf picking up Ally more often than not. It is an amazing device. Beinf an avid windows user, and being building PCs since 1990s, i was right at home with interface. It has it's own quirks but the ability to natively play all games is amazing! I would give it 6 starts if i could.

Have to be honest - I fully expected to not like the ROG Ally and have to return it. Reviews have been hit or miss and I have plenty of experience with faulty Asus products. I do not doubt that people have run into those. To avoid disappointment with the ROG Ally, you have to have the right expectations. This is not a Xbox handheld or Nintendo Switch or even a Steam Deck. It is a gaming laptop with controllers on the side. That means you get all of the versatility and capabilities of a Windows gaming laptop, but also all of the complexity & quirks of Windows 11. Expect to use the touch screen a lot & the onscreen keyboard when navigating around Windows. I've gotten used to it. Once in game, it pretty much feels just like my Steam Deck, except the games run so much better and the screen is amazing. Hardware wise, this feels like what a Version 2.0 of the Steam Deck will be.

Clear and vivid picture. Indie games runs seamlessly and jrpgs. Triple A games run good for the most part with some tweaks in graphics settings. I got 47 to 53 fps on callisto protocol on medium without plugging it in. So definitely recommend it for playing all your games on the go.

I’ve played games ranging from Stardew Valley to Diablo 4 and the new Forza. If you manage your graphics settings and expectations a bit, having access to your PC games anywhere in the house or on the go is fantastic - I play in bed or out in the family room regularly. And, I like the Windows OS - it’s familiar and flexible compared to something like SteamOS. Looking forward to setting up streaming from my desktop to the Ally for better performance - and using a dock to stream my desktop to the big TV via the Ally. The battery life leaves something to be desired when playing AAA games, but I’m usually plugged in anyway. My only real complaint is that one of the RGB lights seems to be regularly inoperative - I think it’s a software thing as it always happens or fixes itself when I update. Even this isn’t a huge deal since I turn those lights off anyway - just annoying a feature doesn’t work right.

It's kind of wild to imagine that we've come far enough to have this much power at our fingertips. I'm still blown away at how well this thing performs. With that being said, that does come at a cost (outside of $700).. and that is battery-life. If you run this thing at 15w or better, you might as well plan on having less than 2hrs battery life. Even though it is a 40Wh battery, Windows takes a chunk of wattage too. If I'm running a game at 15w, which gives me the best performance to battery ratio, the total system watts is around 25w a lot of the time. This equates to about 1hr 40min of play time. The plus side is: if you plug it in, you never have to worry about that. And that's where the unit really shines. If you run this on power, you're likely to get up to or over 1080p/60fps in most AAA games at medium settings.
