It’s been pretty awesome having this all my friends and I have been playing hell divers too and fallout four on it. It is amazing. I’ve steam on it and I’m also able to play all of my Xbox titles on it. It is a fantastic portable gaming device and if you’re ever on the go or traveling, I definitely recommend it!

Right now this is the most powerful windows gaming handheld on the market and can handle most AAA games with no problem. The battery life is pretty bad, if you are running turbo mode, you can see your battery % decrease by the second. You have to put in some work to get the things working but this is definitely worth it. Wish the internal storage was larger but from youtube videos, it looks like its pretty easy to upgrade yourself.

I LOVE my ROG Ally!! It is a beast of a machine packed into a little frame. Only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the SD card slot on this thing does NOT work. It slows down the entire machine when you slot an SD card into it. As long as you’re cool just running off of system storage, you’ll love this thing.

    The perfect Game Pass machine!

This is the perfect machine for Game Pass on the go! I've been using it on each of my frequent 6-hour flights, and it's been a breeze to use. Battery life is on the short side, so I got a chunky power bank to almost triple it when I cannot plug it. Also, keep in mind that this is a Windows machine, so the first setup is a bit cumbersome with a small screen and no mouse, but you'll only experience it once, hopefully!

Picked this up June 21st and I'm loving it so far. Plays most games in my Steam/Epic/GOG/Xbox libraries. Even newer AAA games that advertise requiring 32 gigs of RAM like Forspoken are able to be run at low settings for an enjoyable experience. Haven't tried emulation, but I'm told it handles PS3 and Switch emulation with ease. Great buy, frees up the TV screen so i can play my Game Pass games while my wife watches her shows.

Bought this for my husband and he absolutely loves it! He was looking for something hand-held so he could sit on the couch and watch TV with us while being able to catch up on some games he said he's been wanting to play. This was the way to go! It plays anything thrown at it.

I use this thing on a semi nightly basis. This thing does everything. A great bedside companion. Plays games well, just have a good power bank on you or an outlet and you'll be fine. Display is nice and it's way more portable than a laptop. Nice when it's paired with a monitor/TV and peripherals.

Love it! The only thing that I might comment about is the battery life being pretty small. Although I hear you can replace the battery and the hard drive. I might be doing that in the future

    Steam deck killer

So I have had a steam deck since release, I haven’t wanted to touch it since this came out, it’s more comfortable to hold for long gaming sessions, the screen is way nicer, the quality can be left higher in most games, and the end result looks and plays at higher fps than my steam deck in almost everything, add to that it runs full windows so any non Linux comparable steam deck game is much easier to deal with.

As an owner of both the Steam deck and ROG Ally, they both have a perfect fit in my daily gaming needs. the 1080p screen with 120 Hz is perfect on the ROG. Call of duty runs really well and looks fantastic. It stays cool due to the two fans which I wish the steam deck had. I don’t like the back buttons on the ROG as much as I do the deck. Overall perfect for the price and it’s very comfortable in the hands.

I was debating between this and the steam deck after doing some research I decided on the rog ally, and I’m not disappointed at all. Ease of use was insanely easy was able to import games (which was mainly the reason for the purchase ) for steam gog epic and Amazon with no problems. Couple that and the fact it is basically a decent handheld pc emulation was a breeze to set up. Another plus was the ease in which the storage can be upgraded (in my case from a 512 to a 2tb ssd). ASUS provides tool to not only make the process seamless but operation to optimize the rog ally are literally at your fingertips (it has a touchscreen). Definitely glad I purchased th rog ally especially since I got it on my Best Buy card 12 month no interest. If you are on the fence about whether or not to purchase a pc handheld the rog ally is a good way to go. Definitely consider buying a 100 w charger depending on the operation you are performing the battery will drain fast. Optimizing some settings (watched a couple of videos) help w the fast battery drain. All in all great purchase.

Excellent piece of hardware! Some of the pro's about this device are it's form factor, portability, and the accessibility of it (it runs Windows, and therefore most games via whatever launcher/DRM is required is no problem, unlike other popular handheld gaming solutions). It's incredible how fast it charges with the included charger. Cons... Amusingly, also that it runs Windows. The core experience with Windows isn't well suited for smaller screens and no keyboard such as this device. This is easily mitigated by 90% of my time spent via either Steam or Launch Box launchers, and rumor has it Microsoft is working on a software solution as well. And of course there's always windows updates to have to install! In the nearly month that I've had it, I have been able to game more frequently than before, because of its portability. I picked up a couple accessories to help with that, including a large backup battery that supports 30 watt output so I can game with maximum performance even on the road. On the note of accessories, it is trivially simple, and supported by the manufacturer, to upgrade the hard drive. As a new device, accessory selection is pretty limited at the moment, but in the next few weeks hard shell cases, skins, and other replacements such as joysticks are due to be released. The 3D printing community has also created some interesting solutions such as customized back paddles, port covers, and stands. Bottom line, despite the price, I would highly recommend this device to anybody who is generally too busy to game, but misses it.

It is a great device with full access to muliple different libraries. The battery life isnt the best especially when you play games like cyberpunk 2077 but its the norm with these kinds of machines. The Veriable Refresh Rate really makes the difference between other hand helds the inbuilt speakers actually sound pretty good especially if you use Dolby atmos.

Love and Hate but it’s a BEAST

This little gaming PC is a beast! I am not a PC user and have used MAC OS most of my life and to be honest, it’s frustrating to do all those PC updates. Don’t expect this thing to work like a plug and play thing because you will need to do LOTS of updates for it to function right. (For beginners reference) You’re gonna have to update the 1. System 2. AMD 3. Armory Crate I had to admit it, it was a pain in the butt but once you do all of it, you’re all set. (Just need to check for updates once in a while.) I own a Steam deck OLED, because I hate doing lots of tinkering and I LOVE my steam deck but now, I find myself picking this up more to play if I am at home or somewhere I could plug it because this thing eats up batter fast and that’s a disadvantage. If you’re a player who loves graphics, PICK THIS UP. You won’t regret it. Refresh rate is 120fps you’ll get that smooth fluid graphics you will never get from the steam deck. (Well, 60fps vs 120fps is incomparable) LIMITLESS GAMING library. After I did an SSD upgrade I LOVE this thing even MORE. This is perfect for PC users but if you hate lots of tinkering and updating, get a steam deck.

You need to know your way around a PC, this is exactly what it is. I haven’t had any issues with mine so far. This is by far the best handheld PC I’ve ever owned! FAR superior to steam deck, in my opinion. The screen and resolution is superb d/t high PPI. Even in 720p with RSR on the games look gorgeous! The 120hz and Freesync is a game changer. FYI: if you disable 120hz in armory crate then you automatically disable Freesync.

Honestly, one of the best purchases I've made. While it's marketed as a 'Gaming Handled', it's truly a compact ASUS ROG computer, loaded with Windows 11 and full desktop functionality. It's great for gaming, but it really is a PC that has a controller as it's housing. It runs games like BO6, Rivals and Fortnite seamlessly, while bigger more intensive games struggle sometimes if you're playing through Cloud. If you download them however, it runs just like a PS5 or Xbox. Would definitely recommend the purchase, grab an adapter and a monitor and have some fun.

Amazing handheld gaming PC. I preordered and have not been disappointed. It plays well, but being a PC it only gets a few hours of battery life at most. This is to be expect for what it is. If I'm gonna be playing it somewhere and I won't be able to plugin a bring my power bank that has USB PD 3.0. I also own a Nintendo Switch OLED and the Ally is actually much more comfortable to hold although it is heavier.

Great performance and great portability. It is easy to carry than Steam deck and have windows 11 running smoothly. With latest update of Bios firmware and software update, you can pretty much customize all config based on your need per game. I can set up 920p with 18w for Baldurs gate 3 and can run medium setting smoothly and play over 1.5 hr. Going to sold my Steam deck.

I love this device! Does it have issues? Yes. Is windows far from perfect? Also yes. But overall this is a great little device, and its great to be able to play my games on the go. So far my experience has been overall pleasant. Set up was a pain, and I do get glitches now and then, but I still am happy with my purchase.

I really love the Asus rog ally. I had bouyit originally to play games. But found out you can do everything you can on a PC. Gaming performance is dang good, I have only played Diablo 4 and cod mw2 on it so far and both play extremely smooth. The controls are comfortable as well. The screen on the Asus is amazing! Games show off their bling and movies are great as well.
