Nearly perfect, very powerful especially coming from the the steam deck. Takes a little tweaking to setup. SD card reader has issues, but it doesn't matter since I upgraded the internal SSD. The screen is amazing and VRR is a must have now

I didn’t like it every card I put in to it for extra storage was fried and it seemed to over heat pretty easy

Ally is very competitive gaming device with very good gaming capabilities. The storage should have been 1 Tb or higer as 512 GB gets filled up with just 5 to 6 gamesh.

I love my ROG ally Z1 Extreme.... I also have the Lenovo Legion Go (Best BUY AND) The ROG ally X. I recommended this especially of you are trying get both plus the x and leave on docked to act as you're hone set up and use the x to travel with cause the micro sd works unfortunately the only gripe is that the Z1 Extreme Micro SD doesn't work but the internal memory can be upgraded. I bought this as a return but the only issue I see with it is that the buttons aren’t as sensitive as I’d like (and I’m not sure if that’s cuz it’s a return or if the buttons are just like that) Otherwise, I ABSOLUTELY love that it’s just a Windows machine in a fun skin. I’m even able to work on it lol it definitely has a learning curve and isn’t plug and play like a Switch; again, it’s a Windows machine with Windows OS on it. They didn’t even slim down the UI to make it feel more “hand held” like it’s just a PC. I’ve had no problem running any of my games even at their highest settings but the battery is a little short and it physically gets pretty hot (think like an old laptop from 2013)

Nice job on this handheld gaming system, smooth graphics speed and controls. It's a mix of gaming and a mini PC. Gets a bit warm during some games you play.

Awesome handheld for that gaming session that cant wait while nature calls. Unplug, take it with you, finish that dungeon, wipe and done! Good specs for a few bucks less that other Windows handhelds while being a few bucks more than that OtherOS handheld gaming device.

If your looking for a moblie pc set up and dont mind a shorter battery life its perfect. Storage is abit on the smaller end and the SD card issue complicates that abit more.

I absolutely love my ally. It plays all my games beautifully. I have had some issues with it running hot, or sometimes the controlls glitching. Other than that it is an amazing device, I just wish the HDMI port was included instead of having to buy it separately.

Good little product, been using it more than my pc lately. Only complaint is the battery life, but the battery life is expected for a device like this one

Overall great device Asus finally stepped up and the latest updates make this thing great. Definitely factor in the SD issue problem though because I believe it is hardware related.

Purchased as a gift for my teen and he loves it. A bit of work to get it set up but after that, he was in love with it.

I was skeptical at first but the performance well exceeded my expectations and unlike the Steam Deck Oled this is a hand-held Windows 11 high-performance PC. Not a Steam OS handheld that doesn't run every AAA title.

Pretty much runs everything I throw at it. I got it when it was on sale for 500$. Worth the purchase. Bought myself an 2230 2tb (130$) and a mod case (32$) (for extra cooling). The battery is the only issue, before you know it you need to charge (time flies when you enjoy something). But with the extra $ I bought a power bank (60$) lol. Almost the price of the ally x in total but... I got double the storage (of Ally x 1 TB) and much faster speed plus I can connect other things with my new power bank. I'd wait for the sale or go straight ally x if this one is not on sale.

Most of the issues you can see them on YouTube. I love the device since I travel for a living but wish the battery lasted longer. Since I upgraded the SSD to a 2TB there’s no need for the SD Card reader but mine failed and now trying to get some support from ASUS.

Bought the Ally open box. Works good but did not have the original charger. Barely was able to hold a charge in the beginning. Had to buy one on Amazon. Works good with most games. Can get choppy at times for AAA games that require you to run on turbo.

Great little machine that allows me to play most of my games like WoW from the comfort of my couch. It does get a little hot after prolonged play sessions but has still handled everything like a champ.

Great machine runs world of warcraft with ease just dies within 2 hours of playing world of warcraft if not on charger bu5 if plug in even if gaming only take 45 mins - an hour to fully charge

Absolutely love having a portable pc this small. It’s great for gaming but also great for almost anything else you’d want to do on a PC. Word processing, video editing (best with mouse and bigger monitor but still works in a pinch), and so much more. Highly recommend! My only complaint is that the controller is lopsided. Wish the sticks were parallel and not one higher up on the controller. It’s not comfortable for me but I know a lot of people don’t care either controller layout.
