The Ally provides exactly what it advertises. For the portability and weight/size, the performance is outstanding. The wifi capability is fantastic. I do mainly play with the device plugged into its power source to have best performance. With the Ally running Windows 11 out of the box, it feels like a true PC experience on start up. ROG does provide their own interface however I find starting up games directly through steam tends to run smoother. The Ally will only continue to advance as technology allows

Some minor quirks but plenty of updates has solved alot of them, know what your getting. With some adjustments in settings you can play any game and a nice dock you have a powerful desktop. oh DONT COUNT ON A WORKING SD SLOT. Im one of the ones that dropped in a 4tb nvme card so no need but mine was one that sometimes it work, others it didnt.

Good handheld gaming device. There are some quarks, but there are workarounds to those (admittedly Windows 11 driven) quarks. Full HD gameplay at mid quality graphics will get you what you want. Battery life isn't that great (about 1-2 hours for AAA games), but you should go into this purchase knowing that. Full Windows 11 experience.

Fantastic device, I've used it both on Windows and several alternative Linux distros. Battery life is what you'd expect from a handheld PC, not too bad for the power you get. This model I hear is much more worth the money than the non extreme model, but I can't confirm that myself as I don't have one. Joysticks are very nice, all buttons are tactile and feel good, even after months of use. Can't go wrong, though be sure to update your BIOS and operating system for the best stability.

Great device. I use it more than my PC now. Its not a 5 star because of the battery.

I was initially worried about taking on a windows handheld but if you’ve had any experience with a Windows PC, youll be fine. It is a bit more involved than a Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch but the power and flexibility you get in return make it worth it in my opinion. Being able to easily play Steam, Epic, XBox/Gamepass, and GOG games and have them all show in one library is fantastic. Never thought I would be able to play most modern AAA titles on a portable but here we are.

You can take it wherever you want and play and use it as a computer too. This is great!!

Does everything I want it to do and more, I take it with me all over and when docked wherever I am its like actually playing on my desktop

Unbelievable the catalogue of games this can play. Instead of lugging around an antire laptop i can just bring this around with me.

Great little device, as a dad that games this is great to grab some game time when the little one naps. Does take a little bit of PC knowledge to tweak some settings and get it working correctly but nothing to complicated. I bought one for my brother as well who is not that great with computers and was still able to get everything set up and enjoys using the device. For the price you cannot beat it, this is truly an ALLY to a gaming dad.

Have had the Ally a little over a month now and I’m in love.. The ability to bring AAA quality games with you where ever you go blows my mind constantly. Have been rocking Baldurs Gate 3 with my buddies and it handles very well with a few tweaks. They have sites dedicated to helping you find the best setting for your games to run well too. Best purchase in a while!!!

The product is good but would be better with more storage. There are aftermarket mods to allow for a 2280 SSD m.2 to be installed which allowed me to put a 4tb m.2 into unit for more storage on the go. The low rating is for asus support as I purched a open box and get my receipt e-mailed to me. The previous person registered it to them. I contacted support case # N2401027429 about transferring registering to my account sending them a screenshot of the e-mail forwarding them the e-mail along with pic of the box and unit with serial number clearly visible but all I get is sorry this is not good enought or we see you sent this but we can't see it. So think twice before buying a open box of asus product or any asus product as it might be hard to get good support from asus.

Great impulse buy for me. Use it all the time and aside from the battery life, this is a solid machine for all types of gaming.

Got this device on sale to be able to connect to my television and play PC games. So far the performance available in such a small package has exceeded my expectations with games both looking better and playing smoother than anticipated.

Light weight easy to use and the brightness is great. Only con is rhe battery life but that is expected from a high performance sevice

Overall it is a great device, and just because it can run most games at decent graphics, doesnt mean you should. The battery life is atrocious, and it lacks the ability to smoothly play any modern triple a game. If you have a good internet connection it is great for Xbox Cloud Streaming, but for that logitech has a much cheaper solution.

Play whatever whenever battery life and heat are the only issue and for me that is no issue at all

In my eyes this is the best handheld computer gaming system. It's got your gamer RGB lights. Easy to set up, easy to upgrade and work on if needed. The screen resolution is amazing it feels like the perfect size I wasn't all that happy with the steam deck size this feels better in my hands. The one downfall I've been reading about these is that the SD card reader burns out so if you need to upgrade storage it has to be INTERNAL besides that. Amazing product definitely recommend

Pros: 1) Excellent screen & image quality; 2) Impressive performance in a small body; 3) Comfortable to hold. Cons: 1) Windows 11 performance; 2) Hit-or-miss ASUS software integration with Windows; 3) Bootup problems caused by software updates. I’m giving it 2 stars becasue the hardware is truly impressive. However, I don’t think the software has matured enough yet. I had this for exactly two days before experiencing a continuous boot loop that prevented me from even entering the BIOS. I had to let it rest for 24 hours before trying again. It seems to be working fine now, but not a good start. I plan on returning this product.
