Plays games really well but not for very long due to a short battery life.

The first one I bought came with a dead charging brick. I had to exchange the whole thing and get a new Ally. As far as the unit itself, it worked as intended for the 10 days I had it. I ended up returning it and getting a Steam Deck OLED. Yes it less powerful but it feels so much bettter in the hands, has a better screen, the build quality is superior, and I’m not constantly worried about the Ally breaking (many issues have been reported) and having to deal with Asus support. The Ally, for me, felt rushed, cheap, and unfinished. While I didn’t have any major problems, other then the charger, and 512GB not being enough space, for the price, the thing doesn’t even come with a cleaning cloth or a case. I also got tired of using Windows in such a small device. Using the touch screen to set things up or change settings got old fast. The use of the mouse with the thumbstick is just bad and clumsy. The battery life is terrible as well.

Great device required wifi which limits how mobile it is but hopefully wihtba hotspot it’s better. People complain that it’s hard to use it is a little more complicated but it’s a device that put together video games a computer and makes them mobile the battery could last more but I’m sure it happens like this cuz my gaming laptop runs out of battery constantly so this is probably the best it’s gonna get for a mobile device and considering the size.

Overall it's a great little handheld pc. Some games work out of the box, with little to no changes in settings. Some games you have to constantly tweak to find the sweet spot to run them, especially on battery power. It's not perfect, but it works and does show potential

this is an ultimate gaming console.checks all the right boxes in terms of power, user experience.I wasn’t sure what to expect going into the Ally – the performance capability combined with the Windows OS was really appealing, but I’d never used handheld PC before and my own experiences with handheld gaming devices has been mixed. I have about 15 to 20 hours on the Ally so far, and I’m overall pretty pleased and impressed.

Replaced a steam deck with this and couldn’t be happier! The screen is fantastic and the performance is much better.

I am really amazed about the performance and playing all my games from my gaming laptop without carrying my have gaming laptop. If you arw planning to buy a handheld gaming pc choose this one there is another one comming out next month the only reason. I dis not chose it because it has the same processor and performance except for battery, and additional type c port.

It has been a blast. It is perfect for me, I cannot play on my xbox as I use to, not even with remote play. I use my Ally to play on the go or when my wife uses the tv. Just finished spiderman remastered and fallout 3 when before it was really difficult for me to sit on the couch and play what I wanted. The only con which is also a pro is windows, I choose the Ally over steam deck to play games my xbox games but windows can be sometimes hard to work with.

Amazing machine. Yes, the updates take forever but it is Windows-based, and that's just what Windows does. Watch a guide on all three areas the ROG updates to ensure you are ready to go because once you are ready to go this thing is a powerhouse. I can remote-play my PS5 and it's perfect, I can play FFXIV online and it runs amazingly, and I can link up Steam, Battle.net, and X-Box and play all my game libraries from one device.

This is a great handheld gaming and mini pc. I love it. The only drawback is that battery life is just eh.

Plays all the games i could want very well. Battery life is a bit short on more demanding games but its quite powerful.

This is a great handheld computer that you can also play gamesand movies on. Excellent responsiveness of controls during gaming. No lagging or stuttering noted. Great device all the way around

This thing is amazing. Im always on the go and barely have the time to game on my pc anymore. This is the perfect console for me. Now it may not be for you as this is windows 11 and its got bugs and issues (sd card error, updates, etc etc) but if your not scared of a few bugs and are willing to put in the effort, this is a perfect device for on the go gaming. Just make sure you know what you are getting into

I love this thing! Some of the most fun I've had in one device in a long time, if not ever! From Fortnite and Palworld, to emulation and classic PC games, this does it all. In my hands, or on my TV, the games and good times just keep coming! Asus has done an amazing job at making it easy to change all necessary settings on the fly - the buit in UI is effortless and fluent. I cannot recommend the Rog Ally Z1 Extreme enough!

My ASUS ROG Ally is great. I like how I can play most of my games on Steam and Xbox Game Pass. There are some minor quality of life interface that would've been great, like navigating through the desktop. Otherwise, I love it. I have an Xbox Series X as well but i haven't had much play time with thar since getting this device. I'd say if you’re not exclusively getting your games through Steam, this is the handheld device for you.

Love everything about this handheld PC ROG Ally way better than steam deck. The only problem I have is the battery

Can run red dead redmeption 2 at native resolutin and combination of medium/high (with ultra textures) at 60 fps in performance mode. Also enjoying diablo 4 at 60+ fps in my desired settings… windows can be a pain, and the software is new.. so you kind of need to be patient.. but the support is there and I believe the device will only get better with time. Havent ran into any issues that resukts in unplayable gaming, just need to learn how to operate it while its in the early stages. Excired for the future of the ally

Got this to add to my handheld gaming device collection. I find myself using the ROG Ally and Steamdeck the most out of all of them. Anything I play on the switch or PSP or the Vita or other emulator based handhelds can be playing on the ROG Ally, since it runs on Windows, most things are click and play, sure a few games might need some tinkering but its definitely not a dealbreaker.
