After owning and playing it for a week i have decided its the perfect power for the price it blows the steam deck away by 5x.

I really wanted to like the rog Ally. I've had it for just over two weeks, luckily I'm still eligible for a return, so I'm going to pursue that return. Hour plus setup process to begin okay I was okay with that it's just a Windows computer... But in the proceeding weeks of using it I've had crashes, I've had my micro SD card be destroyed by it. The card literally is dead will not be read in any other computer. There's the firmware issues, the horrible battery life even on 10 watts I found on some lower powered games I still get maybe an hour at most I can literally watch it count down almost with the seconds. I really wanted to like this as I said but I feel like it's a beta that got released to the public possibly even an alpha product. I like Asus I have an Asus gaming laptop and it works great. But unfortunately the April 1st announcement date of this almost feels like it's fulfilling itself.

Do I need to say anything, it’s the rog ally, who wouldn’t give it 4 stars it’s not perfect but it’s really good

The Ally is an amazing handheld, You can play Xbox games, Steam, and more. With Windows as the operating system the possibilities are endless. The display is the best ive ever seen, probably the biggest improvement over the Steam Deck. Unfortunately, the battery life is horrendous. 2-3 hours at most with most games.

Definitely a gaming beast......if you know what you're doing. This is not a out of the box plug and play device. It requires a hefty initial set up. After that tinkering and getting games to run how you want will still require tweaking and testing. If you're familiar with windows and such you will have a blast if you have patience. I love this device, I'm sure Asus will hash out whatever issues arise/exist.

I bought the ROG Ally for my father. Its already setup and just requires a steam download to get going. He enjoys playing MW3 a lot!

It is definitely a powerful portable, and can run AAA games pretty well on medium settings. Screen looks great, but the controls are subpar compared to a steam deck. The overlay for choosing games is also an afterthought at best, as you get kicked out into normal windows A LOT, so you never forget thisnis a windows machine.

Almost perfect except from the micro sd issue,performance is solid

After several software patches and hot fixes, the Ally is finally deserving of the title of king of handheld PC gaming. The Steam Deck is cute and has a strong, applaudable, focus on compatibility, but having the Ally to fill in gaps with things like Xbox Cloud Gaming, all the non-compatible Steam games, and games from other launchers, sells it. The only con is Windows-related and boot issues, which one can only hope is fixed in time with software.

I picked up the ROG Ally a few weeks ago and overall I’m really happy with it, especially if you want real PC gaming on the go, I like that i can take it anywhere and play on the go

I bought this after reading and watching a lot of reviews on it and so far it's great. It connected to my Steam library easily and has enough power to play many games without issue. The only thing I need to purchase is the storage upgrade to 2TB because the 512GB it comes with is way too small for games these days.

Great handheld system. I purchased it since my wife and kids take over all the TVs. Now I get a chance to play games while they watch their show. Storage could be better, i usually game on the cloud via game pass, so i guess is not too much of an issue. However if you have a big library in steam, storage wont be enough. I havent had a chance to test the sd card. Hopefully it will work.

The portabke computer aspect is fantastic but imthe initsl start of having to uodate drivers and systems was a bit off putting. Having to soend time watching videos to get the right drivers after the initial install was a slight oain but not too bad. The main “flaw” is just the batteryblife, after about over an hour of game play the system is out of battery life.

I needed a PC for school but rarely use laptops for personal use. I wanted more utility so I picked up this device to double as a handheld gaming system and a PC. It does everything I need it to. I can run regression analysis in Excel and play Starfield on Xbox GamePass. Its the perfect device for me

For a handheld device is definitely works hard for such a compact device. Everything about it runs better than even my gaming laptop. The only downside for me is the awkwardness of holding it. For comfortability it nots as good as id like. But thats still minuscule compared to everything else it offers

Overall it's been great for what it can do, but there's a big learning curve and a bit buggy. Docked mode is probably where I see most issues. It's only been out for a little over a month, so I see it getting better. Steam Deck was the same way in the beginning. Do I regret the purchase? Not at all. If anyone wants to get into an entry level windows machine, this is a good starting point.

10/10. This thing does everything i wanted out of it. I can play Fortnite 120FPS easily and it looks beautiful doing it! I thought i would only be using Turbo Mode all the time plugged in but was so surprised to find that i can play in Performance Mode! Doing so gives the Ally about 2 hours and 20min of Fortnite gameplay which is amazing. Same goes for Overwatch. I play using my bluetooth Xbox Controller and latency is amazing as expected. Very very happy with my purchase and in love with the Ally!!

I’ve had this for a month no problems great performance battery could be bigger, and I have had no issues with SD card reader
