    I have played mostly light weight games with the ROG Ally and it has been mostly a good experience. The first one I got had a bad joystick but I was able to get it exchanged for one with no issues. The only other issue I have had with this device is that when you put it to sleep the rgb joystick rings will flash occasionally. Using hibernation mode in windows works fine however. Overall in the 10s of hours I have used the ROG Ally Z1 extreme, I have enjoyed using the device and have been able to play the games I wanted to play on it.

    Love the thought process overall of the device, and well executed. The only issue is the battery life. I am still using it for both work and entertainment, regardless of me having to charge it if i play “Cyberpunk 2077” or “Baldur’s Gate 3”. Good battery life if you are playing older gen games like “Persona 5” or “Final Fantasy XV”.

    10/10. This thing does everything i wanted out of it. I can play Fortnite 120FPS easily and it looks beautiful doing it! I thought i would only be using Turbo Mode all the time plugged in but was so surprised to find that i can play in Performance Mode! Doing so gives the Ally about 2 hours and 20min of Fortnite gameplay which is amazing. Same goes for Overwatch. I play using my bluetooth Xbox Controller and latency is amazing as expected. Very very happy with my purchase and in love with the Ally!!

    This is a powerful device that plays most AAA games well. If you're not a PC gamer, it's going to take research and patience to get this thing tweaked to how you like it. If you're not a Windows user period, you're going to have a very tough time. Once you come to terms with both of those, the use case and performance of this thing is incredible. There's definitely some quality issues out there with so much plastic, but if you don't run into any quality control issues, this thing is a pleasure to use.

    Like the title says, not bad for an open box special. The only main concerns that I have is that: 1. It seems to go a bit slow every now and then 2. The SD card doesn't always read, but reads fine in my laptop. Leading me to believe that it is a problem with the Ally, not the SD card Other than those two problems, my daughter and I love it

    Worth every penny in my opinion but the “sleep” feature sometimes freezes my game and I get reverted to my last save. Which can be a lot or not that much so it can be inconvient. As far as battery life, its okay, best I can put it, like it drains depending in what you are doing about a percent a minute and it’s dissappointing but I never have 100 minutes to play everyday and I play for 15 min-30 min increments and thats where the processor really shines because boot times are less than a minute I love that, but 600$ is a lot of money at the end of the day and the question being is it worth it is honestly up to you the buyer to decide because it’s use for various settings and I personally use it for work and at night sessions when the mrs is asleep so its good for me but it has its pros and cons.

    Overall it's been great for what it can do, but there's a big learning curve and a bit buggy. Docked mode is probably where I see most issues. It's only been out for a little over a month, so I see it getting better. Steam Deck was the same way in the beginning. Do I regret the purchase? Not at all. If anyone wants to get into an entry level windows machine, this is a good starting point.

    It is what it says. The battery life is the worst thing about this. other than that it ran Fortnite, apex, and rainbow very well with fps. a good nightstand to watch Netflix or YouTube. not portable though due to battery life. the joystick trigger dead zone are terrible as well.

    The product is great if it can fix the sdcard issue. I have played for several hours after which the sdcard first fails then it breaks the motherboard. I like the performance upto that point. All the major games I play, were working great. The controller position is also perfect.

    The portabke computer aspect is fantastic but imthe initsl start of having to uodate drivers and systems was a bit off putting. Having to soend time watching videos to get the right drivers after the initial install was a slight oain but not too bad. The main “flaw” is just the batteryblife, after about over an hour of game play the system is out of battery life.

    I love this thing. The performance on games is incredible when you mostly play AAA games. Its light, it feels good in the hands. But the left stick stopped working and would not move up and down which apparently is a known issue with these. Had to return it and there was no longer a sale. Will be waiting for a bigger sale to occur.

    The stepping stone to handheld PC gaming

    After several software patches and hot fixes, the Ally is finally deserving of the title of king of handheld PC gaming. The Steam Deck is cute and has a strong, applaudable, focus on compatibility, but having the Ally to fill in gaps with things like Xbox Cloud Gaming, all the non-compatible Steam games, and games from other launchers, sells it. The only con is Windows-related and boot issues, which one can only hope is fixed in time with software.

    So far this windows device has been pretty good, have not had any issues out of it so far. Excepted a bit of freezing here and there, the frame rate is pretty soild also the system is very responsive which is great, I also like the different modes you can choose from which are desktop, consoles mode and touch so far i am impressed the product. One last thing is the system’s heats up the screen whixh makes it very hot, it can be a bit noisy at rime just the fans.

    Excellent device!! Would highly recommend it! I have this and the Lenovo legion go and recommend them both. Honestly this device has better speakers than the legion, but the screen on the legion is amazing because it is larger.
