The good: Build quality is solid, decent screen, gets bright. Great speakers. The ASUS tools make it easy to customize settings. The Bad: modern games struggle to squeak out 30 FPS on low settings even on max power mode and plugged in. For me this was a deal breaker as its a gaming console /PC. I get its handheld, and its not going to rival a laptop but for the price, spend an extra hundred bucks and get a 4050 or 4060 laptop. You get DLSS plus frame gen, larger screen and keyboard and touchpad. As far as handhelds go its great. Unless you want to game on it. I guess if your desperate and dont want to lug around a loptop you can get your gaming fix in on the go but it was just too rough form me and not enjoyable wirh the stuttering and frame deops. Also-No extra USB ports to plug in accesories. I would have liked to see a desicated chaeging port and at least one free USB C port since it is a windows PC

Great purchase for those on the go plays most games pretty well and just looks amazing in white.

I purchased the rog ally on july 2nd 2025. 2 weeks later 2 days after my return period ended they lowered its price by 150 dollars. I called the store and they refused to do anything to make it right for me. Also my ROG has killed 2 SD cards alrdy with its SD car slot issue. Great machine besides the SD issue and I would recommend never shopping at Best Buy as they refuse to budge on 2 days beyond the return period to match there huge price reduction. I will be solely doing amazon going forward even tho i have a BBY CC. I will not be shopping at this horrible store with zero customer service

This is great its made gaming accessible for me again. I used to have to turn on my gaming pc and find controllers and deal with so many things. Now I can just grab the ally and start gaming. I can game downstairs with family, im no longer trapped in my office and everything just kinda works . no. tweaks nothing to get in the way of my gaming.

Everything was in the box and the set up was super easy! My 9 year old had been playing roblox on a tablet that was super laggy and this does this trick without having her sit at a computer. She can play anywhere she wants!

Very impressive device! Playing PC games on a plane ride while plugged in was awesome. Sometimes performance can be unstable when not plugged in. Was common to need to restart to get it to run better. Totally recommend the ROG Ally if you're looking for mobile pc gaming!

It’s pretty good it has its bugs but nothing too big to handle but the battery sucks

This is a reasonable product for the cost to be used as an alternate entertainment option.

It's such a great device! Took it on a flight and was able to play my games with no issues!

Do not get without a larger m.2 SSD. The card reader is still faulty and will require an RMA to replace. That said, it is the most powerful hand held on the market and is an exceptional piece of equipment when it runs. Cloud Recovery is also really bad.

Easy to travel with great game play and with a windows operating system

I love this device so much, I play it all day! Easily to take places, and nice display!

Persona 5 Royal on the go has been a treat to play on Ally. VRR screen makes the game play smooth with no tearing. Ally is better than Legion Go and Claw! If only Ally has an OLED screen, then it would be perfect.

Word of advice for anyone who purchases one of these spend at least an hour researching and downloading the latest updates and firmware other than that as long as you're accepting of the battery being pretty crappy in terms of life, it's actually pretty awesome

Previous to this O had a 1k gaming PC. I stopped using it after buying this gem. The main reason is because now that I work from home, my desktop is always busy with my work laptop, so I had to do a lot of changes on my desk in order to play half an hour and ended up not playing at all. People, don't buy gaming PCs, buy this instead.

I really enjoy the Rog Ally but it took me a while to get used to it. The Ally is not like the switch where you play right out of the box. I am also new to pc gaming being a console gamer mostly. The devise has preloaded user videos and they are videos on you tube to help. I like that it plays from game pass and steam. Eventually I want to learn emulation. The ally is powerful and a lot of enjoyment

I've been playing on this console for 3 days, it's a good machine. Coming from a person that had the steam deck for about 8 months i can say that some games runs more stable on the steam deck due tp the lowest resolution. but the ROG Ally has keep getting betting with each update. Right now you cab play AAA games on Mod graphics setting between 40 and 60fps let leave at that

This thing is just amazing. I can play Doom 2016 at 60+ fps while on battery and at intermediate Asus ROG battery consumption settings, all while having maximum settings on ultra. I highly recommend this is you want a portable gaming device. It can run Cyberpunk 2077 on high, not ultra high, rather on high, battery set on high settings, at 31-50 fps. It has run any game I've played, and surpassed my expectations. Well done on ASUS, specially for the price.

When it comes to gaming on the go thia is hands down the best choice in my opinion. It provides good visuals and 30-40 fps on mid to high settings. With vrr even 30 fps looks smooth. The battery life is short when playing on performance mode and the system does run a little hit but overall it is mu favorite handheld console so far and well worth the price.
