Truly amazing Windows handheld device.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this device so much. This is a excellent device to play older PC games, emulators and indie games. I have a M1 Macbook Pro and this is a perfect companion. If I need to use Windows application that is not available for Mac, I just use Microsoft RDP (Windows 11 Pro require on ROG ALLY to connect into RDP) or using 3rd party remote desktop into my ROG ALLY. DON'T EXPECT TO RUN LATEST AAA GAMES ON ULTRA SETTING in 120hz. Because this device is not meant for that, is actually meant to play games on the go sacrificing some performance. There some games that I was able to run 120 FPS in low or Medium settings on 720p. Some games in High settings 60 FPS on 720. Indie 2D platform games in high setting, 120hz on 1080p. This is small screen and I find the perfect screen size to play 720p games without sacrificing visual texture. If I'm playing low demanding 2D indie games, I play it on High settings in 1080p. High recommended to get portable bluetooth keyboard if you playing games that does have chat features or to login into the game. Bluetooth mouse if you need to editing emulator or navigating complex program. In the picture I have iClever IC-BK03 and Logitech MX Anywhere 3

Does exactly what i wanted it to
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This isn't my first handheld gaming pc, but it's my first wondows handheld, and i couldn't be happier. I play games from steam, gog and epic and all run smoothly, provided I choose the correct profile. Screen is amazing, speakers are amazing, and i have the freedom to install what I want, how I want from whatever launcher I want. I honestly have no complaints.

Great mobile gaming computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.great system for mobile gaming... I bought this because I was going to have a rather lengthy stay in the hospital.. and this here did the trick to keep me entertained... along with it also being a full fledged computer... I was able to use it as double duty and only had to bring this with me...

Fantastic mobile gaming device. Battery could be b
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love to play mobile games but offerings from Nintendo and phones lack that processing piwer to play next gen games. Enter the ROG Ally. Much like the steam deck, you can readily download my Steam library. Better yet, because i also have gamepass, GoG and Epic launchers, i have an avenue of many free monthly games. Because its Windows, just about any windows application works as well. My biggest gripe with the device is battery management. Windows is not catered to be optimized like SteamOS is. I will say the screen and hardware are really nice and the device doesnt run too hot to the touch. Lack of thrid party accesories also hurts the device a bit. The included charger is very welcomed to allow for quick top offs when running low.

Amazing Window PC with the option to add a eGPU
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing PC windows small factor video console. Not perfect due that is windows and not so easy to use as the Steam Deck. Obviously more powerful with the amazing option to add a eGPU and get extra graphics power. I think windows needs to start developing a system exclusively for PC handheld/laptop/Desktop gaming OS System. This is the way.

Full fledged Gaming PC in your pocket
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It runs all the new latest AAA games like Starfield like a charm. If you need a gaming system but don't have time or a dedicated space to set up your gaming rig this is the machine for you. Only downside for me is the battery life which isn't that good.

Battery aside this thing rocks!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great performance, display, and value. 120Hz screen makes a big difference on indie games (love playing Hollow Knight on it). One think that certainly could be better is battery life. Getting 1-2 hours with AAA titles and 3-4 with less demanding games. Hopefully software updates will improve this over time. I truly love it other than that!

Best handheld
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Probably the only handheld I will ever need until they update this thing truly too good only thing that sucks about it is the battery life but I can play Skyrim at 60fps on medium settings pretty consistently and any rogue likes with 120fps easily truly the best purchase I’ve made

Not what i expected, im happy and look forward to
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It won't disappoint you like a steam deck would sorry steamdeck but im being real here. I ditched my 3080ti and ryzen 9 7900x to full time the ROG Ally and well im not sad. I play mw3 at 70fps at medium setting with fsr 3.0 1080p and it runs smooth. With more games being optimized things are starting to get better. Beam ng drive runs at 60fps but needs some software updates as it does feel a little glitchy, but it runs wayyy better than the steamdeck does. Overall runs all my games and i have quite a few. Maybe good to mention that i prefer image quality more than fps so that being sad the settings i run are for good looks and not straight performance. if it didn't satisfy me then i wouldn't be here leaving this review. Just know this was my honest review and i would hate for someone to ditch handhelds. This is the next generation of gaming consoles making it easy to just play a quick game or to sit down and smash hours on your favorite titles.

Awesome
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is awesome only two complaints are not enough storage space for game orders like me and the fact you have to keep it plugged in because the battery life. Other than that it plays everything I put on it so far lost Ark tiny Tina’s wonderlands redneck rampage in Dosbox and emulation station. Could use a second USB-C port.

Much better!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the steam deck on launch and had a great time with it. But the performance was lacking, and some games needed some effort just to get it running. Also, the screen brightness wasn't too great. Btw i bought the 512gb which was like $650. Anyways, this thing is better in all aspects. Yea the battery could be better but i mean its almost the same as the deck anyways. The screen is great, armory crate is cool, speakers are way louder, joysticks are in a better position, and it feels better to hold. If you can get it for $450 like I did, its a great buy!

Huge upgrade to my portable gaming!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This pc gaming handheld is seriously top of my list as favorite devices to play on the go!! I cannot believe it can play so many of my favorite games and even stream my xbox while I'm away from the house! Biggest flaw is the battery capacity is very low and you need to have a portable charger or be next to an outlet. Other than that, love it!! Side note: I have the killswitch travel kit from dbrand to add to the look and protection of the device. Highly suggest!

Asus rog ally
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This console is very good, it has given me many hours of enjoyment. The bad thing is that it is still very green and has a lot of room for improvement. I think Asus had to put 32 or 24 GB of ram in it to make the games more demanding before super good, but the console is very good that 120hz screen is very nice and sharp

Pretty solid handheld gaming PC.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty solid handheld gaming PC. Lots of folks thought this was a “console” on launch and not a PC so I believe there was quite a bit of confusion initially but now that the smoke has cleared, I’d say the device is pretty good. A few issues I’ve had since Launch (I’m a day 1 owner of the ROG Ally) is the SD card slot died (not a huge deal as I do not use it…mainly an annoyance) and some software bugs. The battery life isn’t that great but at the same time…this is a gaming PC running multiple things at once…not a Nintendo Switch so poor battery life is to be expected while gaming on the go. Overall, it’s a great piece of tech and if you’re in the market for a pretty solid handheld PC, definitely give the Ally a try.

It really is incredible
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had mine since June 11. Coming from a Steam Deck, the screen and speakers are amazing as well as the performance in the Performance and Turbo modes. Haven't had any issues with deadzones or SD cards after a good 60 hours on it the last couple of weeks.

ROG Ally, Excellent Condition Open Box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased an open box ROG Ally for a terrific deal at Best Buy, and even though the hardware itself is fantastic, my experience wasn't quite as portrayed. When it was shipped to me, I noticed slight cosmetic damage… in other words, some scuffing on the bumpers. This was disappointing because Best Buy's description assured that there would be absolutely no cosmetic damage. In addition, the Windows installation had not been properly reset, so I had to manually reinstall it myself before the system was operational. That aside, with the extra work, the device is working well and functioning as it should. I just wish the description was more accurate and that the initial setup was done correctly. I do not know if this would have been possible for someone with less experience with windows. I would like to note that all of my issues were most likely with Best Buy and NOT with the product itself, it works well and I could not ask for a better handheld for the price.

Yes, better than Legion GO.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I came from the Lenovo Legion Go to the Ally. I returned my Go and purchased the Ally after not being fully happy with the size and weight. the ROG ALLY is like going back home... I feel more comfortable using it. Falls right on the Gaming niche of Asus stuff. I bought a few weeks a go and I am happy most of the bugs have been sorted out, the Go needs work. but this is what disappoints the most, they launch products and the updates are later, so, lesson learned with New Games and PC Handhelds, wait at least 6 months to buy, you would not enjoy it anyways until all the "updates" or fixes are out and seems that 6 months is a good time period for today's rushed releases. The picture I attached is with the bumper case also sold by Best Buy

Great handheld console with the update issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yesterday I got my rog ally and came home late after work to boot it up. Just fyi, this thing needs updates here and there and it gets really frustrating at that moment(like armory update, bios update, myasus update, graphics card update, etc) becuase it took almost 2 hours for me to update this newly arrived machine to make it up to date. This made me irritated. I just wanted to play game.. so after all these disaster, I finally installed my favorite game to test this console and it was just phenomenal. The main reason to buy this console was to play djmax respect on steam because my steamdeck couldn’t do constant 60fps and it kept bugging me. I thought this console maybe do little better on turbo mode but i was completely wrong! It can handle 120fps even with 15w performance mode which is great. I thought about taking 1 star off for all these updates hassle but I just can’t after experiencing my favourite game running flawlessly. I give it 5 stars though I wouldn’t really recommend rog ally to the others who don’t really know much about computer becuase this thing is way too complicated for those who never used windows pc.

ROG Ally is Great
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product I love it and how good it is at handling certain games, although storage leaves a lot to be wished. The internal storage fills up rather quickly depending on the systems you use for playing or streaming therefore I had to buy external memory card, but it is doing excellent so far and the amount of things you can do with the ROG Ally is very vast as it works and behaves exactly as a computer so it will be very easy to get the hang of it for new users, but there are few things it can’t handle well, understandingly because the processor is not then best of the best but it is quite decent in my opinion and I’m loving it so far for gaming on the go and daily use.

Pretty awesome, handheld PC gaming device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those looking for a handheld gaming experience without breaking the bank, this PC is worth considering. It may not have all the bells and whistles of newer models, but it's a capable device that can still deliver a great gaming experience, especially with older games and indie titles.
