This thing is a little powerhouse. It runs my entire library on the go. The picture looks fantastic. Easy navigation and controls, and runs on Windows. It fits great in my hands, and the touch screen is a bonus. 10/10 for me.

I do recommend getting a mouse and keyboard combo that you can plug in using Bluetooth or a dongle. This will allow you to navigate like you would a Windows PC. The touchscreen is okay but if you are going to do a lot of personalization, you will want the keyboard/mouse combo.

I personally have not had any problems running anything that has controller support. As long as you understand windows and understand this is not a console but is a full pc you will have a great time with the Ally

Great Handheld device

I play Baldur's Gate 3 on it with the highest graphics and it runs it perfect. I have also played many other games on it and have had no issue with the Alley. I got it on launch day and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The games I can play with it are nice but don’t buy it for multiplayer games like I thought I could. Single player games are key.

Based on the issues described, we recommend updating the BIOS. It is recommended that the BIOS and firmware be downloaded and updated for system performance optimization. The update takes a few minutes, please do not turn off the device during the process to avoid a critical problem that the system cannot be turned on. Easy to use, fun and convenient. Only downside is out of the box it wouldn’t play half of my games before having to google and look up for a couple of hours how to fix.

DON"T PUT AN SD CARD INSIDE. PLEASE JUST REPLACE THE SSD AS A WHOLE BECAUSE YOUR SD CARD WILL FRIED WITHIN A MONTH !

ROG Ally is the best Windows Handheld

I love being ab le to run all my windows based installers like GOG and Battle.net to play almost everything I play on my desktop. Gamepass streaming gaming on this unit is incredible as well.

The fact that it runs on Windows 11 on top of good hardware not only makes it a fantastic handheld but also a potentially very competent desktop replacement. Especially, if you get the (very pricey) XG Mobile. With easy compatibility across multiple platforms, this is easily the best handheld of 2023 so far.

I have a gsming PC, nintendo switch and a ps5 but for some reason i keep going back to my Ally to play gsmes. My love for gaming has died down but i found love in it again with the Ally.

I’m writing this review after having it now almost four months. I haven’t had any issues like some others have had with the SD card etc. It’s amazing to be able to play games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldurs Gate 3 at 1080p and medium to high settings and having it run smoothly.
