But after using it for a few days, asus need to make it better. The full windows 11 integration is great but the price is too much for what you get. I would expect atleast a 4k screen. Overall, great product. I would definitely recommend.

While I have had the usual difficulties of a first gen product, specifically with the joystick, and I am aware of the potential of SD Card overheating in turbo mode, ASUS is so ng right by me and fixing the issues. Additionally an external dock with SD card reader solves the overheat issue with the cards.

Setting it up takes awhile but once you’re done everything is really easy. My first device was an open box and one of the bumpers didn’t work but I traded it in for a new one and so far everything works great.

It's not meant to play your games at 4k with 144 fps. It's more for the casual gamer on the go. Or someone who likes there demanding game on the go at slightly less fidelity than what they get in their 4090 tower. It runs every game I've thrown at it at acceptable rates.

We do understand your disappointment with the ROG Ally and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing overheating and issue with the SD card reader slot. To resolve the card reader issue, check if the memory card is working properly and the most current card reader and chipset drivers posted at: https://rog.asus.com/us/gaming-handhelds/rog-ally/rog-ally-2023/helpdesk_download/ . If you are experiencing overheating while gaming is normal. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. You can reduce this overheating by tweaking your hardware and performance mode setting using the most current version of the Armoury Crate utility. Furthermore, update Windows, drivers and the BIOS if outdated. Additionally, if you are playing these games online, ensure this handheld device has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. Awesome Device!! Except the sound

My health will sometimes leave me bedridden or unable to be at my desk to play the games i enjoy. Or to even play games freely with adult scenes without my children seeing them lol. I absolutely love this thing!! Except for the sound. The sound, especially with playing Baldurs Gate 3, is crackling alot and its very distorting or it will go in and out. And when i dock it ... its a hit or miss whether the sound is transferred to the TV or not through hdmi. Im still fiddling with and learning about it since i just bought so i will update if i figure out how to resolve the sound issue.

Gets really hot and lags on some things. Anytime i want to use an external controller i always have to unpair then repair even if its connected. Graphics are good but embedded controller isnt reall fine tunable.

I have the Steam Deck as well and I put it down when I picked up the ally. If you're on the fence just goto your local Best buy and check out the floor demo. Then you'll be sold like me!

Portable meets PC

It is great for most games on her besides the newest games. I can run most of my library on this device. Just keep in mind that it is not a pickup and play game. You have to do a lot of setip like any compute but once you do it is amazing.

It runs everything I throw at it above 60 FPS with no issues. I recommend this to anyone. I recommend to adjust fan curves in armory crate for those who are afraid of micro SD overheating issues. I did adjust fan curves and haven’t had any issues yet. Installing a new SSD is very very easy.
