Great gaming handheld. The screen refresh is great can handle most games at good fps . Best handheld for fortnite .

Great product, Sometimes i just get bored of my PC and this is amazing for on the go. It can run a ton of things and can hook up to my TV whenever! I like to think of this as a Nintendo Switch PSP on steroids

Dont get me wrong, this thing has its quirks and should beginners should be careful before purchasing but once you get it setup and playable… there is no equal especially at its price range. I do recommend getting the warrantly less you plan on upgrading the joysticks.

This device is perfect for gaming on the couch or in your bed. I found that sports games runs perfect on the ROG Ally. If you’re not tech savvy I recommend you watch the introduction video given to you when you first boot the device.

Great device despite its very obvious flaws with the SD card that ASUS refuses to fix. Just make a new revision! If you are ok with that issue, then this is one of the best portable devices on the market.

The Rog Ally is my go to handheld gaming pc. I have a steam deck as well but much prefer the Ally. Its handles most any game you want and with surprisingly good performance. Armory crate makes customization and performance managing simple.

So I would not recommend for kids that do not fully grasp the concept of a "handheld computer". My 10yr old son was absolutely positive he could maneuver his way around using this and begged me to buy it. After all he has every gaming console out, obviously within reason, but this thing was beyond his compression. He struggled with figuring out basically everything. I had no idea how to help so Google to the rescue. Just when i was about to pull my hair out, he began yelling about how HOT the back of the thing was getting. It literally left hia little hands red due to the heat coming out. Over all, it is a GREAT product for teens and up... i wouldn't recommend anyone younger unless they fully understand the ins and outs of computers and calibration.

Good handheld to play game around your home. It's can play almost games at 60 fps, but weak battery. Average 2 hours.

Was torn between the ally and the steam deck and im glad I chose the Ally. Ive been using it for emulation of older titles, and it performs perfectly. It also plays full PC games with pretty good performance, although the battery life does take a significant hit in this department

Awesome device, been using it for about a week now, and genuinely shocked with how well it performs. Only thing is dont expect to take it on a long road trup unless you have a power convertor or jackery because this thing eats battery for breakfast.

Got interested in getting another gaming console after buying a steam deck. Saw this and thought why not!! ASUS is kinda terrible, really buggy when I was trying to set up an account, and also just really tedious to use. Not to mention the defects that came out the box. SD card reader was broken when I got it, a defect thats been pretty widely documented, with the chance of destroying your SD card if you aren't careful. Had to send it in to get it repaired which took 2 weeks, doesn't even come with a case. Honestly I'd never recommend this to anyone, buy a steam deck

I purchased and ended up returning an open box unit. That said, if you're aware of the limitations and issues, this has the potential to be a great handheld gaming device. Maybe not at the MSRP now that a newer generation of the device has been released. I was well aware of the SD card issues (something that isn't a problem for my use), and I was looking forward to enjoying the device. That said, when I went to factory reset Windows 11, I found myself unable to activate Windows. Turns out, after much troubleshooting, the OEM embedded license was for Windows 8, which will no longer activate a "new" install of Windows 11. My options were to either purchase a retail license of Windows 11, run a gimped OS on a brand new device, or go Linux. I chose to return the ROG Ally and go with a different product which has been nearly flawless.

Powerful handheld, but I would rather just play on a monitor because of the screen size. Also, the battery life is not very good. Useful for gaming on the go.

While my ROG Ally is generally ok, if undersized for elder eyes, the SD card slot is compromised by its placement adjacent to the heatsink (engineers didn’t pay attention in Electrical Engineering 101). Under heavy using (gaming, the primary purpose of this product), the data on the SD card will become corrupt due to heat, possibly beyond repair. While their does appear to be a soft recall, apparently, ASUS support and warranty repair is a consumer hostile experience in which ASUS will actively attempt to defraud or misdirect the consumer rather than resolve their actual issue. Please see GamersNexus and Louis Rossman on YouTube regarding their experience. As such, I won't bother using ASUS repair services, will accept the product as is, and will never purchase ASUS product again. When the joystick fails, i will replace that myself with Hall effect joysticks. Regarding the SD slot, to augment capacity, I simply replaced the NVMe SSD with a larger capacity model. I'd recommend the Steam Deck for a straightforward, console-like experience. For a more involved, enthusiast experience, i might suggest the Lenovo Legion Go or its successor (the controllers/grips need a redesign). I got lucky with my ASUS motherboard but won’t buy ASUS products again.

Device runs amazing. There is some tweaking that is needed to make sure the VRAM is allocated right along with updates, but once you’ve tweaked it, it is amazing. Been using now for three weeks and would not sell the device. Recommend for those who are traveling a lot as well.

Great handheld, though it does have it's flaws. The biggest is its battery, if you play on Turbo with max settings, it'll drain fairly quickly. Luckily you can tweak your settings to get the most out of this device.

This is hands down the best purchase I've made in years! I absolutely love this thing. I love that I can bring my computer to bed with me and play games/communicate on it. I have so many games on it now that I have no possible way to be bored!

Really good handheld console, can run games from many games platforms (epic games, steam, xbox gamepass, you name it), if you cant afford a gaming pc or you just want a change of pace, this is a good choice since it has high specs.

Love it. I can game anytime and anywhere on the go. Best thing I got yet.

I love it cause it lets me play xbox games pass and other store front games. Offers more than steam deck but wish the screen was an OLED. Perhaps next one will have that!
