This item from asus is awesome only gripe is the vents need to be moved in a bit, the heat from said vent burns my finger tip, other than that this item is a steam deck replacer with fun window i love it

It isn’t for everyone, but this handheld pc will surprise you. I recommend this to anyone that is already familiar with PC gaming or anyone that wants to tinker with a computer. If you have games on Xbox, steam, or any other platform this will play all your games. It’s quirky because it’s a windows computer. But hopefully Microsoft embraces this crowd and makes a gaming mode that allows for use of the controls in windows. Once you’re in a game you have controller access, and works as designed. Since AAA games are so large I would also recommend a large microSD card or even an external drive if you have a large library you want to play. 512gb is pretty large, but some games can be 100-200 gb.

Perfect. Perfect performance. I love the armoire crate software, I can’t wait to see them improve even further on that. I love using this as my main PC. I had a sad card issue, and Asus fixed it for FREE and now my SD card works perfectly.

I am very satisfied with the performance in modern titles. No issues as of yet.

Love this handheld machine. Fully functional handheld pc , just wish the battery lasted a bit longer when playing more power intensive games.

Serves its purpose well, Isnt overly complicated, you dont have to learn a new OS, comfortable to hold, good weight, i can keep going. Need an SD card or a SSD upgrade if you plan on making it your main system.

i loved the ally and it worked awesome for what i was using it for but then my Samsung PRO micro sd stopped working and i wasnt even using it for games, i will just get another when ASUS fixes that issue

It's very good, Windows is really the thing holding it back. ChimeraOS is making great strides on getting linux to work on it. On normal windows desktops, i would remove armory crate immediately. But here it's basically required for this device and it's genuinely useful for the Ally. Wifi's a bit slow. Good chance it's a weird windows thing. Running speedtests from my phone and the Ally, my phone (pixel6) is 200+mbps faster. Same AP, same distance. Hopefully that's something that will improve. If you do buy it, be prepared to update, update, update. Set aside some time. When you think you're done with all the windows and armory crate updates, open the start menu search MyAsus and update again.

I like it a lot I can do what I want with that and the best thing is that I can take it anywhere I recommend it in case what they want is to use a computer while you are in bed or for trips

This handheld is excellent. I can play all my retro games and it even handles many of my newer ones, no problem. The screen is crisp and clear, and the VRR feature ensures a smooth experience while gaming. 10/10, would recomend.

Coming from the Steam Deck OLED, this device took its place as my main handheld. Battery life is great, graphics are amazing. Just dont buy this on your wedding anniversary like I did and you'll do fine.

Really fun to play on don't often get to use my pc so this comes in handy on work trips battery life was better than i expected as well

Although the graphics were amazing and it really operates like a pc, in order to use it as a hand held, it does require a bit of tech knowledge. My son and I never had the courage to mess with the settings to map the buttons to games, and the ROG settings were not as straight forward as they seem. So when we finally tried to do it we ended up messing up a driver. Good thing we were still on time to return it. Its just wasn't for us. Maybe we will try version 2.0 when it comes out.

Yet another half-baked windows handheld from a company notorious for dropping support at a drop of a hat. The SD card slot is still broken, the analog sticks still don't feel great the battery life outside of cloud gaming or playing old roms or very light indie games is non-existent if you wanted this to be your handheld gamepass machine be prepared to play plugged in like you did with the Game Gear back in the 90s.

Love this handheld gaming PC. Was a little glitchy at first, but after a couple software updates it works flawlessly. I think Asus really nailed this one!

It reminds me of PSP. It works smooth and amazing experience playing game. No lags in any task

The ROG Ally has a lot of potential. At the time of this review, Asus has some software bugs to iron out. It still works well though. If you’re looking for a powerful windows based handheld, this is it.

Very handy little device. Easy to take my games with me and do some light work. Feels good in my hands. Charges fast and battery lasts a good amount of time.
