Get solid 2+ hrs playing the latest AAA games with no heat, and 7-10 hrs reading/web surfing. Need a solid dock and it's a full blown laptop replacement.

I’ve made many custom power profiles and in game optimizations to get the best performance out of this monster.

This thing is ok, but definitely need ALOT of improvement. It does play some games great, but at what cost? Well… the biggest flaw here is the battery life. Asus made a portable gaming system that gets you about an hour unplugged at 15watts. Which mind you is not going to get you anywhere close to 60fps on medium to high settings on basic games such a skyrim, gta 5, or even basic titles such as minecraft. On top of that, to get somewhat decent frames for a playable experience, you need to jump up to 25w. Not a problem, but good luck playing it for 20 minites unplugged. They need to figure thr battery life problem out. BIG TIME. I took this on a 3 hour plane ride, and had to charge it 3 seperate times. Yes, it does play some games great. But they need at least a 50whr battery in this guy. Orher than that, it runs windows as a OS and that runs terribly on a handheld. Should of went the linux route like the steamdeck. All in All, a 2/5 for me until the battery issue is reoslved

I prefer the Rog Ally. However there is one major issue. It heats up so hot that the sd card slot will not work. This forces you to update the storage. If this device is geared to make pc gaming less intimidating for a more casual audience, then fresh out the box I would have to give it 3 stars.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So interface is not great, controller buttons don’t seems to carry over if your used to using an Xbox controller with your steam games, I thought using the rog rakiri pro would help alleviate this a little bit but it doesn’t, we are many updates and patches away from being a day one recommendation. I will say hardware and performance are superb but it seems Asus may have shot itself in its own foot with the newest bios which anchors down performance

We do value our customers and take negative customer service experiences very seriously. The joysticks and buttons only work in Steam’s Big Picture Mode. When using Steam’s desktop interface, please open Command Center and manually switch Control Mode to Desktop Mode, then you can use touchscreen or the joysticks and buttons as a mouse to navigate the app.

I dont feel like I should be constantly plugged in an outlet to play a (portable) pc. I already have a ps5 so if this doesnt get at least 2.5 hours of battery life in the future I probably wouldnt be willing to upgrade
