The power is nice to have, too. I did knock a star off because the Windows 11 touch screen experience vs. the Steam Deck UI is lacking and Armoury Crate, while improving, does not fix those issues.

Occasional freezes and crashes but nothing out of the ordinary for Windows. Frame rates were much better than on my steam deck and the screen is much better. However, today, after downloading battle net and Diablo 4 I can’t use the handheld for more than 5-10 minutes without it freezing and requiring a hard reboot. Not even while gaming. I tested it just web browsing and updating drivers. After 10 freeze and hard reboot cycles I’ve had enough. I’m going to exchange for another Ally in case mine is a lemon. If that machine performs better I’ll update this review. Until then, I would not recommend this at all. Get a steam deck.

If you are experiencing system crashes and freezes with the laptop, check if the laptop is running with the most current BIOS version 319. Also, verify if Windows and drivers are updated in order to maintain optimum system stability and performance. While accessing cloud gaming, please check if the unit has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will definitely affect system speed and performance.

I've never had it crash on me as long as I've kept it up to date. I live a camper lifestyle that doesn't allow me to have my full pc set up so this was an amazing compromise if not better.

Buy it with a credit card with purchase protection or buy a Geek Squad warranty because Asus support is questionable.

Keeps resetting the fingerprint, password and passcode every other day. It's become so annoying that I've stopped using the product. 2. Ton of software glitches. For example, the Xbox game service app won't recognize the gamepad and then you have to close and restart until it does. 3. You set a visual profile and it will reset to default by itself. 4. Random errors that appear out of the blue. Basically, poorly written code. 5. Absolutely trash battery life. 6. Vent placed near the left hand and may fry your trigger finger after long sessions. 7. Heavy, if you plan on resting in your bed and playing games, well this won't cut it. It's too heavy and your shoulders will start aching in a matter of minutes. I can lift double my body weight and even I find this uncomfortable to use beyond 20~30 minutes.
