Was planning on replacing my steam deck with it. However, after tinkering with it for 8 hours, the ROG Ally is just to glitchy to recommend. The power consumption is also substantially more than the steam deck. As an example, you can run Diablo 4 on the steam deck at 13-14W. At similar settings, the Ally needs at least 20-25W, at 720p with AMD RSR. Though this may seem inconsequencial, the increased battery draw results in very short play sessions when away from a charger. As is, I just can’t recommend the Ally over the steam deck. Hopefully the next iteration fixes the UI bugs, and power management. Will be returning my unit tomorrow.
