It functions like a tiny PC which is great but it needs something like Steam OS. Im not sure if that has been implemented but when i initially bought it it did not have a system like that.

Indeed, this ROG Ally is a powerful handheld PC running a full-version of Windows 11. Since Windows rolls out periodic updates, these updates need to be installed to optimize system stabilty and performance, including updates for this ROG Ally posted at: https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/rog%20ally%20(2023)/helpdesk_download/. You may experience slow updates/downloads due to internet connection or network traffic issues from the update server. This device doesn't come with Steam OS. I wanted this for diablo 4, but i couldn't get it to run even in turbo mode. I updated windows, the bios and the amd drivers. Not sure if i got a bum unit, but returned it either way.

I got mine about a week ago and can’t put it down. I know some say the steam deck is better but for me this one is better because of the ergonomics and the buttons set up

I think ASUS decided to use different components. I would highly recommend purchasing one. It runs on Windows 11 so if you're familiar with Windows OS using the ROG Ally will be a breeze.
