Bought it at my local Best Buy and when I tried to set it up wifi was not working. Had to go to bios to reset everything and it worked now I am enjoying my rog ally.

if you are an experienced windows user than this device is killer. if you are expecting a console like experience you will likely be disappointed. windows is janky and gets in the way of this device quite often and asus software is abysmal as usual but there are fixes for that.

Day 1: I opened the package up, and it was packaged very nicely! Well cared for, and attention to detail was excellent. The setup was relatively easy. Unfortunately, it was nothing but update after update. It took nearly 2 hours before I could even use it. The first game I downloaded and tried was Diablo IV. It ran "okay" while plugged in. It got around 40-60fps at low/medium settings. This was not very reassuring, considering the reviews showed much better performance. This was all due to ASUS releasing a bios update to improve the battery life that gimped the processor. I gave my Steam library a shot; I copied across four games to my Scandisk SD card, loaded up Warhammer 40k: Boltgun, and again, disappointed. The game didn't even run at 60FPS; Boltgun is a pixel shooter modeled in 3D, so it is reasonable on any system. I then tried Wreckfest, and again, poor performance unless it was on medium settings. I was disappointed again because Wreckfest came out nearly four years ago, so the engine is not demanded by any systems today. Day 3: I took a break from the Ally because I had a long drive to Tennessee, so I wanted to try it out when my wife was busy doing schoolwork. I tried Diablo 4 again while it was plugged in, and after about 30 minutes, it started to get warm in my hands, uncomfortably. Once again, I was disappointed in this purchase, I went online and searched for ways to improve this product, but all I found were negative reviews with people having the same problems. I all but gave up at this point. Day 5: I gave it one last shot and tried Monster Hunter. This game was released nearly eight years ago, so I imagined that Ally should be able to handle it easily. Nope, once again, frame lag, stuttering, and poor performance. At this point, I gave up on this thing, which was different from what was advertised. Poor performance, horrible battery life, and the only time it works as intended is with an EGPU twice the Ally's cost. At that point, I will play on my gaming laptop, which is five years old and has BETTER performance than the top-of-the-line current handheld.

Great gaming system my son loves it. Just like a mini ps5 on the go.

This is the one you should if you are looking for a portable device.
