However, we took 1 road trip and when we went to play on it after a long day, the left joystick was inoperable. It could only be moved up and down and could not register on horizontal or diagonal move. We were told that something could have been loose internally and that it was a common issue with this device.

Z1 Extreme Lack of ports even compared to consoles

Not everyone has $2000 to shell out for an overpriced egpu that will never take off because of the insane price tag. This will run most games very well but It really ticks me off that it claims to be a windows 11 PC but has no hdmi port to connect to a TV or external monitor like most handhelds in this niche. I shouldn’t need to buy a usb hub just to be able to use this with a thumbdrive in the $500-$700 price range when most low end laptops HAVE THESE BUILT IN BY DEFAULT!

Nice design! And it runs Windows 11! Make sure to update your bios, windows updates, and do my Asus app updates to ensure proper operation os the Ally.

I thought the specs and the ability to play other PC games was a big plus over the steam deck. I actually bought several units as a gift for my relatives. I did notice that even though it was widely reported, the microSD card have a high failure rate. Although it was covered under warranty, I sent the unit back to ASUS through Geeks Squad back . They declined to repair the issue stating that there was another damage remote they found on my unit (non-existent since it was inspected by the Geek Squad). If you do the research they fail to have addressed the problems . Do your research or wait till ASUS addresses the problem.

If you are having issues with the SD card reader, we recommend you send the product in for service in order to determine if this is a hardware issue so this may be resolved immediately.
