However, we took 1 road trip and when we went to play on it after a long day, the left joystick was inoperable. It could only be moved up and down and could not register on horizontal or diagonal move. We were told that something could have been loose internally and that it was a common issue with this device.

If you don’t need or care about an SD card then it’s great, but not worth the upgrade over the Deck.

So ot clear that things are still being figured out. But this is the price to pay when you are an early adopter. Even the steamdeck had tons of issues on releas, so just make sure to manage expectations
