Great device, maybe Ally 2 would be perfect

Screen is too small and I need just a little more power from it. However compared to the Legion GO. They know how to make software. Legion GO has a much larger screen which I prefer but it's lacking in optimization like the ROG Ally

Product is not ready for shelves

Once initial setup was completed, I was noticing my SD card r/w speeds were nowhere near where they should be. Reinstalling drivers did nothing, but a full OS restore did....for about a day. The reader for the MicroSD cards is located right near the exhaust fans so it gets pretty toasty. The device burned through two of my microsd cards due to the fan placement. Honestly, the whole product feels under-baked, the analog sticks are loose and the deadzones large. Even when it was working as advertised, I had a hard time getting Armory Crate to play nice with games from the Xbox store.

You mentioned that you could no longer use 2 of your SD cards after using them with the ROG Ally for a while. Please provide us with the following information:
We would recommend returning the device to us, if you're interested to get this issue resolved.
1. SD card brand and model
2. SD card capacity
3. SD card is first time use?
4. SD card worked on other devices after failing on the Ally?
5. Thermal profile usually used > Silent / performance / turbo / manual
If manual, please provide us with the fan curve.
6. How much storage capacity has been used on the SD card

Rog ally seems work just fine

The device looks great so i did not bother to returned and i manage to fixed it by replacing some parts. Till now its working good

Just get the desktop instead

It’s like having one of the first Windows Phones and trying to play games on it. Bought this thinking it would hold me over for a couple years before I buy my kid a gaming desktop, should’ve just got the budget desktop. The battery life is terrible and you need to stay tethered to power. A full fledged Windows OS on such a small device is a no go as well. Keyboard launches when it wants and apps fail to launch or quit unexpectedly often. I would return for a refund but I missed my window my 1 day!
