Warning: Severe Design Flaw with ASUS ROG Ally

However, I have been profoundly disappointed due to a critical design flaw. From my own experience, and as I have seen echoed in online forums, this device has a major design error: the heat output is positioned dangerously close to the Micro SD card reader. This has not only resulted in my Micro SD cards getting burned, but it has also ended up damaging the console's own card reader. To make matters worse, this issue has cost me not only financially (Micro SD cards aren't cheap), but I have also lost invaluable data that was stored on these cards. It's inconceivable that a product from such a renowned brand could have such a significant design flaw. I am utterly disappointed and find this completely unacceptable for a product in this price range and category. Regrettably, I cannot recommend the purchase of the ASUS ROG Ally console under any circumstances until this design issue is rectified. I urge Best Buy to evaluate this situation and consider the possibility of removing this product from its shelves until ASUS resolves this design flaw. Consumers trust Best Buy to provide high-quality products, and this console, in its current state, does not meet those standards. I hope my experience serves as a warning to other potential buyers. Please, do thorough research before making the decision to buy this console.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control, testing, and inspections. What you've experienced was not intentional or representative of our brand. Please note that there will be updates for the ROG Ally in the future that will improve overall system performance and stability. Please verify if you currently have the latest BIOS installed:

If you already have the latest BIOS version installed and you are still experiencing the issue please provide us with the following information:
1. SD card brand and model
2. SD card capacity
3. SD card is first-time use?
4. SD card work on other devices after failing on the Ally?
5. Thermal profile usually used > Silent / performance/turbo/manual
If manual, please provide us with the fan curve.
6. How much storage capacity has been used on the SD card
