Overheats and goes into a boot loop

Unfortunately since I took it out of the package I had nothing but issues, the amount of bloat ware installed is not even funny. After download a couple games, exoprimal and war thunder. It runs rhe games fine, good fps and good quality but after about half an hour of use the device would shut off. And then would blue screen, forcing me to hard reset the console. I reinstalled the OS twice and had the same issue.

The whole system is buggy. It wont let me restart or shut down most times, I have to force shut down. I'm outside of the return window like most people are, even though it hasn't been a month since release. avoid yourself the hassle of having to deal with this system.

We are sorry to hear that your SD card reader has issues as well as the buggy system you have been experiencing. This is definitely not the norm and is not the type of quality to expect from ASUS products. Since you are outside of the return window we recommend returning the device to us through an RMA to get the issues resolved. Before doing so please advise us of the following information:
1. SD card brand and model
2. SD card capacity
3. SD card is first time use?
4. SD card worked on other devices after failing on the Ally?
5. Thermal profile usually used > Silent / performance / turbo / manual
If manual, please provide us with the fan curve.
6. How much storage capacity has been used on the SD card

I was so frustrated by how slow it was, it took forever to do any updates. Even at the lowest settings, it struggled to play various games.

We do understand your disappointment with this ROG Ally and the inconvenience this may have caused. If you are experiencing speed or performance issues and unable to play games, check if Windows, drivers, BIOS and games are up to date. Updates for the ROG Ally are posted at: https://rog.asus.com/us/gaming-handhelds/rog-ally/rog-ally-2023/helpdesk_download/. Additionally, check if you are running the most current Armoury Crate utility software. The most current version is available for download at: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/. While accessing cloud games or web applications, ensure the device has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will affect system stability and performance. Keeping the device always updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "MyASUS" utility software or application. Do not use with SD card

That is definitely not the kind of experience we want our customers to have and we are currently investigating this issue. Almost great

Very unfortunate. Can't recommend it yet as I've heard many people have returned it for other reasons.

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control, testing, and inspections. What you've experienced was not intentional or representative of our brand. Please note that there will be updates for the ROG Ally in the future that will improve overall system performance and stability. Please verify if you currently have the latest BIOS installed: https://rog.asus.com/gaming-handhelds/rog-ally/rog-ally-2023/helpdesk_bios/
If you already have the latest BIOS version installed and you are still experiencing the issue please provide us with the following information:
1. SD card brand and model
2. SD card capacity
3. SD card is first-time use?
