    I had a terrible experience, many problems after 1 month of use, RGB lights with problems, left joystick stopped working, Windows has a terrible optimization. It has been in technical support for 1 week for warranty. Many reports on the internet about its defects

If you are experiencing stability issue with the device, check if Windows, drivers, BIOS and games are up to date. Additionally, check if you are running the most current Armoury Crate utility software. The most current version is available for download at: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/. While accessing cloud games or web applications, please ensure the device has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will affect system stability and performance. Keeping the device always updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance.     LOVE THE ALLY BUT MY MICRO SD CARD READER NOW HAS A HARDWARE FAILURE AND IT IS PAST THE 15 DAY RETURN WINDOW. SO NOW I AM STUCK WITH HAVING TO RMA WITH ASUS ONLY A MONTH AFTER GETTING THE ALLY.

    Fun device but not ideal for your only PC, playing games offline or going to sleep can be a headache, windows is meant to always be connected to the internet.

    ROG ALLY JOYSTICKS

    The only problem i have with the ally are the joysticks they are way to sensitive and have almost no sensitivity range its either go or stop playing only up is a bit more tedious than normal

    Too many issues, not ready yet

    I'm almost positive I'll be returning this. I am connected to my Wi-Fi and can get online using a web browser but both Steam and Armory Crate can't connect to the internet. I had to do a workaround for Steam to even launch and now it still goes back and forth between having internet access and not. If I go into Steam settings though, it still says not connected. This seems to be a pretty widespread issue from all the threads I found about this online. The first recommendation is to install the updates from Armory crate and My Asus but neither can update as they just sit on the connecting to internet screen. I'm currently installing a bunch of updates, some being for the Wifi card, through Windows update instead and we'll see if this fixes the issue or at least allows me to install the updates from Armory Crate and My Asus. I'm pretty tech savvy but I can see how someone who doesn't know as much would be totally lost in this situation. This is supposed to be a console but the fact that you have to mess with the settings to even get it to work is a huge issue. Based on my experience just with the setup, I'm already thinking I'm over it and I'll return it. It's not worth the hassle, not to mention having 3 different places for updates. If Asus wants to make a real handheld gaming console, they can at least put all of the updates in one place. I don't need or want all of their My Asus crap just to install some updates.

    Missed opportunity from Asus. This product I received instantly bricked windows with armory crate updates. Its probably better now since I purchased the decice but at launch I had to return it unfortunately.

    SD Card Cooker

    Bought 2 and returned both. The first unit had a rattling noise with the vibrator motors; the second unit fried my 1 TB SD card within 2 weeks making it unreadable. I would not recommend purchasing this product until ASUS repositions the SD card slot or unless you decide not to use an SD card. Otherwise it's not a bad overall. Better to wait for them to fix the issue IMO.

    The ROG Ally is a great device when working. This item has stoped working on multiple occasions. First it was the right joystick and right trigger not working causing me to return the item. The second issue was the right joystick drifting and not working. The third issue has been the left joystick and the right joystick drifting. For the months that I have had the Ally it was not a good experience since I constantly need to worry on what else is going to break.

      All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, issues you are experiencing with the Ally are random. ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or part that stop working prematurely under normal usage. We recommend that you send the product in for service in order to determine if this is a hardware issue so this may be resolved immediately. A RMA number is required to send it in for service.     Protoype Windows handheld device

    Returned it after 2 weeks it still has a lot of bugs and optimization issues, it’s great when it works. Windows is both a a pro and a con for this device but overall its a decent machine I would wait for future iterations of this device for sure

    I got this to play games that don't run on the steam deck. unfortunately windows doesn't translate well on a handheld.

    Where is the Gyro control? ASUS given up on it?

    Gyro/motion control was advertised for this device and it is physically capable of it, but ASUS has yet to implement software control of the gyroscope. On the Steam Deck, you can set the gyrpo to control either of the joysticks or work as a mouse, this is a game changer for accuracy in shooters, and a deal breaker if a handheld is lacking it. I will be checking for updates daily, but as it stands, you need 3rd party software to activate the gyro and even then it is very janky and doesn't work with all games. Very disappointing .
