This thing is immensely powerful for the size. Portable all-in-one PCs have come a long way, and while performance and visual quality are important, so is battery size and weight. This thing checks every box, and you can get roughly 1-2 hours of gameplay on a single charge. Playing while plugged in is nice, but I aould recommend an external battery for playing while traveling.

this is another big step in mobile pc gaming, however i think windows is a bad choice for this platform. the point of having windows is for full compatibility but it would be nice if the industry was able to push away from OS restrictions due to anti-cheat compatibility. I have been playing all of my Windows exclusive games on this lately and it works well. I've noticed speakers crackling sometimes and that seems to only be solved by restarting the system or toggling power modes. it also does not seem to like multitasking too well and the AI voice/noise modules will stutter while in a game. I have turned those off in Windows and have a much better experience. I think there are still problems to solve with this form factor of gaming PC but this was a good bump forward. It is smaller than the steam deck, and i personally still feel that the steam deck has a better controller set up, but this is fully satisfactory and feels comfortable to hold. it may be better for people who think the steam deck is uncomfortable because its slightly too big for their hands.

It's a good product and runs well. I have enjoyed it for the time I've had it. However it can be a little janky sometimes where it can run games like Nuclear Nightmare at high graphics and Helldivers 2 at medium but it can't open lego starwars the skywalker saga in less than 15 minutes and have the game completely stop responding after you open an episode. Overall I would say it is worth the money as it can run most games. But if you bought this device to play Lego the skywalker saga don't get your hopes up.

When i got my ally there was no issues. Got it for like 3 months now. It does not even overheat . I got my all at the internet and got it ship. The buttons is great but it does not have good battery life. Everything is great about it. Would recommend it to a friend or family

Awesome console I really enjoy using this thing and being able to game on the go. It doesn’t have as good as a battery life and maybe the feel in your hands as a steam deck but the screen is bigger and it’s really easy to use. If you’re not a computer person I’d get this over the steam deck

But let's talk about something not boring like work, let's talk about gaming instead. Very simple and super easy to access your favorite apps with the click of one button you open up the Armoury Crate. You may ask yourself what is Armoury Crate well it is the place where you can access your favorite gaming apps on your Rog Ally. You can tell Asus made this device with gamers in mind. It is very comfortable to hold, it has the little bit of weight to make it feel solid, and overall it is a solid build. The speakers it comes with are good enough to get you by, but a nice headset will make game play better. The image is good no complaints about it. This connects to your normal windows just like a computer and helps share info from one system to another. It does have a fingerprint ready to help you log in and personalize your system to you. Some of the things I liked about the Rog Ally is that it was built with some of the latest technology susch as DDR5 RAM, and has nice accent lights around the analog sticks. This is a very well built handheld gaming system.

is really good i enjoy playing on it when am away from home but like everything there's always issues like the battery and the memory are kind of lame but understandable i guess it is basically a handheld computer

Asus rog aly is pretty good, i really like that it has gamepass whichnthe steamdeck doesnt have. I do wish it had better battery and more memory. Unfortunately sd cards dont work on the rog aly, it would turn on and had to takemout the sd.

Amazing product, extremely complex. If a person isn’t Comfortable with using a PC and understanding antivirus’s, search engines, windows, diagnostics, etc, it could be a little confusing and ultimately lead to a person thinking the device is defective rather than, downloading drivers, or checking settings, and permissions. Despite that though the device is great, on most days it actually replaces my phone as my entertainment of the day, I’m waiting on accessories for the device to come out, to enhance efficiency in personally preferred areas. Also, this device is considered a PC, so I’ve found the fact it’s main control type being a controller conflicts with certain games, some games I have to either dock for Mouse and keyboard play, or spend a hour setting up controls to fit each individual game, which can be rewarding at times, but is mostly just a hassle.

I have upgraded my ally with a new backplate which helps with heat dissipation. Ive also added memory (2tb now) On amazon there are many better docking stations with built in fans etc..Ive upgraded the thumbsticks. And have to say games run great on this. Did i have an issue with the sd card reader? Yes. I will say It is not even worth your tine purchasing an sd card for this. I mostly play on low power and occasionally on high. But never for very long sessions as i am an adult gamer and use this recreationally. That being said the 256 g sd cards memory has been wiped I believe due to heat. Get the 2tb memory or if you like you can upgrade it yourself to 4tb memory even

I’ve had the ally for a while, and I would say I like everything about it. The battery life does go down quickly but other than that everything about it is good I would definitely recommend. If you’re into gaming handheld.

This handheld held is amazing. The Ally does not get hot. The xbox streaming works better and smoother than using my laptop. GAMEPASS allow you to play cloud based and games on pc by downloading. The 512GB is can be updgraded hdd only RAM is soldered. starfield looks amazing on this portable. So far this is the best portable on the market. the Switch will have to come hard to compete. Initial install took awhile. While downloading games speeds were not accurate i have 1gb speeds wifi 6e getiing 50 mbs while downloading starfield at 104gb. The process oddly took 2 hrs. Update needed. If looking for a console on the go this is what you should get. No gaming lags sound is amazing. Would have prefered wqhd screen but would have added to cost.

Bought it in "Used-excellent" condition. When it arrived, it was not in that condition. The Y button was stuck, the device was dirty, and pretty unresponsive. Called customer support and informed them of the issue. They were more than helpful and just instructed me to go to a store and get it replaced. Was in and out with a new console in less than 5 minutes. Loving it so far. I travel a lot, so it's nice to be able to take this with me and play pc quality games. Of course, spreading democracy at the time of this writing. Highly recommend. I haven't used the SD card slot yet, so I'm hoping I don't have the issue that's widespread. If I do end up having the issue, a reball seems to be the fix. So not too much of a hassle.

After using the Asus Ally for 14 months, I can safely say it was a worthy investment. The flexibility of it being a windows device is the best part. I will say my biggest complaint is the battery life. I definitely prefer playing it in plugged in mode due to the handheld life only being 2-3 hours.

I love the Ally. It’s better than expected. Battery life could be better but I knew that when I decided to preorder. I mainly play Diablo 4 on it and it handles it with ease. From startup I can be in the game in under two minutes. I would recommend to a friend.

Great for gaming on the go unfortunately battery life isnt good at all. Easily fixed with a power bank but to be called portable, really should have larger battery

Thank you Best Buy! Whether it’s returning an item or finding the right item to keep, Best Buy always puts the customer’s concerns and needs first. I bought an open box rog ally in an excellent condition and literally the next week the new model dropped to the same price I paid for the open box. Since I was still within the return window they let me return the handheld for a new one. The resolve to that situation Best Buy provided alone shows an example of how Best Buy’s cares about their customers. I plan on remaining to be a happy loyal customer. :) P.S don’t sleep on purchasing the Z1 extreme rig ally, performance specs and versatility compared to the steam deck is a game changer!

so far my experience with the rog ally has been amazing i get to play my back logged games when I'm not home and even play games offline again, this device has given me joy, but i will say when it gets hot the sd card reader does not work.

Overall this device is a big step in the right direction towards handheld PC gaming. Some of the aspects are a little lacking and the windows integration isnt perfect. If you have the money and are good with computers this is a fine purchase you will enjoy. If you're not extremely familiar with PCs and are just wanting an out of the box handheld gaming device this might not be for you. I love mine but I do get frustrated with some of the issues it has. Hopefully with future models the issues will be ironed out and these devices will be a big part of the future of gaming.

It performs, looks, feels, amazing. Only thing if youd have to play 10-18 watts unplugged if you want more than 1.5 hours-3 of game time
