    A good handheld

At its price point it can play most PC game good at 1080p. But even when the frames dropped it wasn't a bad experience because there was no screen tearing or skipping. AMD did a good job with this one.

Love this thin, my wife also uses it and enjoys the heck out of it. Fair warning though, battery life isn’t great no matter how you run it. Runs gamepass stuff without an issue, ran remnent 2 and it runs pretty good overall. It’s not going to be running it in high settings but for a current console game to run at 60fps with some tweaking of the settings, can’t complain all in all.

I bought a Used ALLY and it ended up breaking on me, But when it was still useable it was a very enjoyable experience. The screen is very nice and the useability and mending ability to activate whatever settings you want was really nice.

Great for ppl with motion sickness. Expect to always be plugged in - esp for the extra performance boost, but it's an extremely powerful handheld - albeit with some quirks. No, its definitely not future proof, but for ppl who have nostalgia, or a huge list of games in their steam they have not touched/finished, this is great for that.

Bought this when my pre-order for a lenovo legion go got back ordered and I dont regret it one bit. Powerful enough to run most modern games well. Only 2 drawbacks are that the hard drive isn’t that big (upgraded mine to 1tb), and the rog allys have issues with the SD card reader causing them to fail.

I did return this since I was able to get the legion Go open box for a $110 less than the original price. But yea…. After updating and some tweaking it was working well. Control game ran with 60+ FPS at 720p with medium settings easily I barely heard the fan go off. It can go up to 1080P but not every game will run at this setting…. The ROG ally software doesn’t compare to the steam deck but I do like it better than the legion go for now. Battery is what you would expect from this type of handheld…. Not very good so keep a Powerbank with you. Sound is the best compared to the legion go and steam deck and I do mean way better!! So if you’re planning on getting one this would be a great time…. Open box items are close to $150 off. Just manage ur expectations though and you will enjoy this wonderful piece of gaming device.

    Pros, Cons, and some Suggestions

It's overall pretty good, definitely not for someone who can't operate a windows machine. There's some technical bits and bobs when first getting it watch a few YouTube vids on optimizing the device. Bad bits aside though it's an amazing machine I can play modded BG3 on high graphics with an average of 30 frames, unmodded same settings average of 45, it zooms at my 60 fps frame create cap for cyberpunk, the fans honestly are super quiet when it's on its turbo setting you can definitely feel the device heat up but the beautiful speakers drown out any fan noise and even with Bluetooth headphones or earbuds you can't hear the fans. It's got a headphone jack which makes it better than most flagship phones, Bluetooth compatible and you can use an external graphics card. All honesty get an external GPU for like 900-1200 bucks by this an external GPU that has a built in USB support and get a wireless keyboard and mouse set and you'll have a full desktop PC at half the cost, and you'll still be able to take the heart of your setup anywhere and it'll still give most modern games a good detail.

What an amazing little device. Running AAA games at 30-60 fps is impressive. If youre familiar with windows customization is robust to tune settings. The only con is a physics problem. The battery life isnt great on this, and a battery bank is a must. A heavier battery in the device would be too uncomfortable.

This is a amazing product. I was able to use it right away simple to ugrade m.2 drive. Asus makes it easy once u have the latest bios up date done to down load the os image from the cloud right from there bios interface. Plays games it works for me the controller and everything. It runs very cool right out of box. Does not get hot. Diablo 4 runs amazing at about 60 fps at med seating for me. Has steam and xbox installed right off the bat.

For the price, the best handheld in 2025. Yes, the asus rog ally x has more battery, but you are playing at home 90% of the time. Elden ring, assasins creed, Warzone and forza runs 80fps++

Had my doubts based on reviews and the Lenovo Legion Go dropping but definitely glad I went with the Rog Ally. I love the screen size and rarely ever play handhelds with the controllers detached. Battery life could use improvement but its to be expected with a device like this running all these programs. 512Ggb isnt really enough to do much with. Consider an SSD upgrade to 1TB minimum.

Its a great handheld . It performs well for majority of games i have tested but only flaws ill mention is the the thumbsticks , Feels like back in the old days of the ps3 controller very loose no tension on the sticks and also battery life not the best almost 1 hour but overall great handheld for those who have the money for it

Right now this is the most powerful windows gaming handheld on the market and can handle most AAA games with no problem. The battery life is pretty bad, if you are running turbo mode, you can see your battery % decrease by the second. You have to put in some work to get the things working but this is definitely worth it. Wish the internal storage was larger but from youtube videos, it looks like its pretty easy to upgrade yourself.

Works great as promised only issue is battery life it doesn't last very long you pretty much have about 45 min to an hour before you have to charge it but performance wise it works great. Also maybe storage but you could always just add more.

Great gaming device just have to tinker with settings a bit. Battery life isn't the greatest but for an hour or so on performance mode on lunch it's great. Charges fast and the 7 inch screen is plenty big enough for games. Only issues I've had is windows having issues logging in pretty consistently so once I changed the account to a local one I've had zero issues being able to do everything on it. It does hurt your hands after a bit so a grip case is a must. The case that came with the bundle is ok, better case would be more useful but it does the job.

Picked this up June 21st and I'm loving it so far. Plays most games in my Steam/Epic/GOG/Xbox libraries. Even newer AAA games that advertise requiring 32 gigs of RAM like Forspoken are able to be run at low settings for an enjoyable experience. Haven't tried emulation, but I'm told it handles PS3 and Switch emulation with ease. Great buy, frees up the TV screen so i can play my Game Pass games while my wife watches her shows.
