Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the product's strong overall performance, portability, and excellent screen quality, along with its impressive game compatibility and lightweight design. However, a significant concern for many users is the mediocre battery life. Additionally, some customers have experienced issues with the SD card reader, and there are desires for improved heat dissipation and greater storage capacity.

Armory crate is a bit annoying from time to time but all in all this is a powerful little PC as portable as a Switch.

It's a good concept but until the chips are more powerful or you are a console gamer it's really jarring going from 75-120hz down to 35 and then even worse when even on simple games like Super Mega Baseball you unplug it and the FPS tanks to 25 so you have to turn it up to consume 25-30w to get a stable 30 with lowered settings and using upscaling (RSR driver level) which chews through the battery. Build quality was okay. Needs a stand that isn't made of cardboard especially on the Extreme model at 650 bucks IF you find it on Sale after tax.. Can't have a Switch like stand or at least on made of plastic? This is a bit nit picky as you buy it for handheld mode but I'll give it that it has decent cord length but it's just not ready. Wish Nvidia would make one with an Arm chip and GPU with Tensor cores to use DLSS upscaling so at least you get decent upscaling. May look into the Claw since it has XESS but it lacks the support of DLSS. Also I saw the cpu running under 1ghz at 25w mode and it was what was holding back the game. AMD has a ways to go on APUs still for handheld at least. Performance plugged in is night and day from unplugged even turning the power up all the way won't be as stable on battery and its noticable. Couldn't get Cyberpunk playing at low Steam Deck settings at a stable 30fps at 720p either even on wall power without it so aggressively upscaled you can't make heads or tails of what's going on.

Wanted a portable hand held computer to play games and figured they this. Takes a why'll to setup because of lots updates. There's some glitches I'm it and have to be patient with some games to load. But overall very happy with it. Lots videos on how to twerk it and get beat out of it. Still lots to learn but if you want something to play games why'll away from computer or console I recommend this device. Hope on time gets to work as good as my consoles

It's a "Pocket" sized gaming PC. I've even run Starfield on it at low settings but still looks amazing. It's not a desktop replacement however i did use it as a replacement during our super heat wave a month back so that my room stayed cool while i used the Ally with a KVM switch so i was using all of my regular peripherals on a 4k monitor/tv. Played all of the triple A games on it just fine albeit low or lower settings but it gets the job done. Price is reasonable since it's a full windows 11 PC and run an amazon dock with it. You will need a 100W power supply if you want to run it on an amazon/steamdeck dock (works withe very dock labeled for steam deck pretty much). 10/10 IGN

Prior steam deck owner. Currently listing the steam deckok ebay. This thing is so versatile. Pair it with an xg mobile and it can be a main machine, plays vr, can do productivity work, and can obviously do handheld gaming. Speakers are loud and clear. Display is fantastic, though i wish it had oled because i love oled. Some folks complain about windows being clunky with touchscreen, this is true, however you can use steam big picture mode or playnite in fullscreen to launch games just fine. Definitely worth checking out. Oh and if white isnt your jam, just skin it. I got a camo skin on mine from m2skins. Last minor gripe, only one usb c port. Would have liked to see at least a usb a as well.

Hey, look, its a PC. If you dont know how to download updates before you start trying to play games, then dont buy this then whine about it later. If you dont mind doing some updating installation and configuration, and your PC games library is not mostly on Steam, then this is probably what youre looking for. It plays Gamepass and other systems including Steam natively. The reviews are true about battery life. Its not great. I play plugged in most of the time so its not an issue for me. Expect an hour to 2 hours of battery life. Great system overall though!

I've had my rog for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it. I'm not really a PC person - at least not right now - so getting a rog makes a ton of sense as my other "nintendo switch". I've also expanded the internal SSD so now I have approximately 2TB of storage instead of the original storage amount, and that makes a ton of difference! It does what it says and that's a wonderful thing. After upgrades and updates, I can control my mouse freely with my right stick and some keys - that's a nice little touch. If you happen to grab one that's open box but in great condition - like I did - it's 100% worth the money.

Awesome PC on the go. I bought it for my son's birthday and he absolutely loves it. It's perfect for gamers on the go but only downside is the battery doesnt last that long if he plays on it continuously.

It could be so much better. I’m giving a 4 because overall it is a good handheld overall and I like it over the steam deck. But it is buggy at times I have to reload games a couple times for them to actually load. Sound profile is good for a handheld device. And games look really good. I’m hoping they work out some of the bugs cause it is really a great handheld. And for the price it is a competitor to a lot of the windows based handhelds out there!! I am very satisfied with the Ally I upgraded the nvme and added an SD card and they do work flawlessly!

Ended up selling my steam deck to a friend after getting the ROG Ally, but it wasnt exactly an easy choice. The ally is awesome because it supports more than just steam games like the steam deck natively does, but unfortunately windows on a handheld is still not really great. While the steam deck has strange issues like sometimes just not powering on and then needing an update out of nowhere The ally has all kinds of other issues like the game center just not working sometimes and also the keyboard being a little well bad. If all you care about is performance and playing games on something other than just steam get an ally, otherwise you might be better off just getting a steam deck.

Has been great so far! Been able to play all the games I’ve been wanting to play on it. Only wish I was able to buy the system with more than a 500gb HDD. (Upgrading the drive was simple enough however)
