An amazing piece of computer engineering it runs games great and for how compact it is it put up a pretty good fight as a gaming “computer”

Very nice handheld laptop. A few kinks I think they resolved with early bios updates. Battery life and overheating can be an issue if misused.

Title says it all. You couldnt ask for a better all around handheld. Unlike competitors, you dont have to be stuck with certain OS to run certain programs. This thing is windows 11 and has he flexibility of running different launchers, such as Steam, prime gamin, etc. Only issue I have is that it doesnt have much official accessories made for it yet and it does get hot after a prolonged gaming session with it. Would be easily solved if they could make a fan/cooler attachment like what they have available with their RoG phones

Great device! Having already owned the steam deck, I was curious if this was any better, and it definitely is in ways that are important to ME. The handheld experience is similar to the steam deck with the exception being the ally has higher frame rates in certain titles. Where this device really shines for me is in docked mode, I was planning to build a second PC for my wife or when I have a friend come over, but I was curious about this device being able to fill that role. It blew my expectations out of the water! COD, Valorant, Valheim all play extremely well. My friend came over recently and we played rust for 5-6 hrs and it performed like a champ. I am very happy with this purchase.

Other the the sd card slot being an issue, which i knew about ahead of time, i love this device. Plays anything i throw at it and feels great when holding.

Really good handheld. Has been able to handle any game ive tried so far. My only complaint is that the sd card reader wont read my sd card.

Much more difficult to use than the Steam Deck due to this running Windows 11. If you can get over the inconvenience of trying to run Windows 11 on a handheld device with no keyboard or mouse and on a very small screen, then yes you can do more than a Steam Deck. Other than that, the Steam Deck OLED has much better battery life, is easier to use, and doesn't require a TON of updates out of the box. Asus' Armoury Crate software is NOT designed for this machine, and I had to factory reset the device twice while trying to get the necessary firmware updates installed due to the software crashing mid-update. Also, any device manufactured in 2023 is likely to suffer joystick issues, so buyer-beware as Asus says they will cover it but has been known to deny coverage if you even opened the device to, say, install more storage. Oh, and don't forget about the SD card slot issues with it being right next to the fan exhaust!

So I did pick it up yesterday and it's a cool handheld. But it's not perfect I didn't expect it to be tho. Discord on it was acting funny yesterday and discord kept freezing saint row ran just ok it was definitely some frame drops on that and COD and the boxing too I figure it will get better tho. It will good for on the go tho. To me if definitely aint taking the place of my PC or PS5 now it might just take the place of my switch on the go tho its just more options with the ally . Having the ability to have a small docking station to carry with is ideal for me even tho they are out of stock at the moment hopefully they will be back in stock before I go on vacation I look forward to the up dates.

This thing is great. Bought to replace steam deck and it does not disappoint! Runs triple A games at 50-60++ fps. Very easy to use and feels great in my hands. Highly recommend for the mobile gamer!

I love the ally x z1 it has became my main console since I’ve got it is highly recommend if you’re looking for a handheld pc console

I like the ASUS rog ally because it can play more of the games that I own than the Steam Deck. It's not the huge leap in oerformance over the Deck that i was hoping for, but its definitely better.

Love gaming on my ROG Ally. I wish the battery lasted longer. But aside from that, I definitely recommend for on the go gaming.

Took a while to get everything set up but after that it ran all my games smoothly. Happy with my purchase

I really liked this. I actually sold my steam deck and bought this. The screen is much better, it looks cooler, and it is faster. Most importantly it runs Windows by default, which means I can run Fortnite and other games without jumping through hoops. Unfortunately, my SD card failed after about a month of use. This is a very commonly issue if you search and appears to be a design flaw. I am returning it until there is some resolution.

Great device, runs well, only issue was buying it used. It was already registered under a separate account so I was unable to access all the features of the device. It also has an unexplainable issue where out of nowhere the right analog stick won’t register left and right movement, only up and down. Overall however, it is an excellent gaming handheld.

Very compact but yet powerful machine. can pretty much run any game you throw at it. Battery life is not the best so expect about ~1 hour of gameplay.

I bought this “open box excellent” and it didnt work out of the box. Was stuck with the log in screen despite all the trouble shooting I did. Exchanged it for another one which ended up needing servicing 15 days in (so was unable to return or exchange). Got it working fine now. Its a bit of a finnicky device, but its able to play games well and can do a lot. Battery life is short so dont expect long sessions.

Very powerful handheld I had an easy process setting it up idk if it’s just my unit but everything just works seamlessly and smooth. Worth every penny it’s playing games my steam deck couldn’t play.

I have a steam deck and this. This blows the steam deck out the water. Only thing is battery life is terrible. But shocked how well this runs

Very good quality! Works great no issues as of now. Portable gaming just need WIFI
